UPCOMING SPECIAL COLLECTION:2016 Louisiana Floods September 17, 2016Recently,we have seen the terrible news ofthehistoric flooding inLouisiana.The regionisexperiencingwhatisbeingcalledtheworstdomesticdisastersinceHurricaneSandy.Asmanyas60,000homeshavebeendamaged,withnearly20,000peoplebeingrescuedfromthe flood waters. Lives have been cruellyaltered.Ourheartsandprayersgoouttothefamilieswhohave lost lovedonesand toallthose living in communities who have losthomesandbusinessesalongwiththeirsenseofsecurity.Ourprayerandmaterialsupportisurgentlyneededtohelprebuildlives.Asaresult,BishopCampbellrequeststhatallparishesinthe Diocese of Columbus participate in theUnitedStatesConferenceofCatholicBishops’emergency collection to assist the victims ofthe 2016 Louisiana Floods. This emergencycollection will be used both to support thehumanitarianeffortsofCatholicCharitiesUSAandtoprovidepastoralandrebuildingsupporttoimpacteddioceses.
