C H R I S T M A S P R A Y E R

My precious Lord, Jesus, I adore You with profound love

and rejoice in the celebration of Your birth.

Your love for us is unfathomable, It is glorious transforming, awe inspiring

and deeply personal.

You choose to come and dwell among us, Being born into poverty, rejection and humility.

Yet Your mother knew whom she bore, Her heart was filled with tender love

As she adored her Child and her God.

Help me, dear Lord, to come to love You with the heart of Your mother.

Invite me to adore You with St. Joseph

and the poor shepherds.

Reveal to me the glorious power of Your birth and change my life on account of this perfect gift of Yourself.

I love You, dear Lord Jesus.

Help me to love You with all my heart.

Christ is Born! Glorify Him!

Christ is born! Glorify Him! Christmas has a great meaning for many people. It is

widely viewed as time for family and friends to celebrate together. It is universally seen today as a “happy holiday season” for the peo-ple of many different cultures and faiths. For little children it is a greatly anticipated day for them to be visited by the magical Santa. For grown-ups Christmas can be a stressful time of the year. We have the ex-pectation of being joyful when we are faced with the obligation of sending out greetings, buying gifts, attending and hosting parties and the financial pressure of paying for it all. For those of us without family or friends, Christmas can be a very lonely time of year. Fortunately for Christians, Christmas has a much deeper meaning. Christmas is a Holy Season. Christmas is most importantly a Birthday celebration. The greatest gift of this day is the gift of Jesus who is Born this day. Jesus is the gift of God of Himself. Jesus is Immanuel which is Hebrew for “God is with us”. He is a Royal Child who is the King of Peace. May we allow this Peace into our lives at this Christmas feast. Peace that comes from a trust in God. Peace that enables us to love and accept love. Peace that gives us the strength to forgive and be peacemakers. Peace so powerful that gives us the patience to deal with difficult people and to forgive and love even our enemies because it is God’s love that we share. God’s Peace is an enormous gift that effects the whole world – the very way we live with one another. Christmas is time for re-ceiving Peace and spreading Peace throughout the world. Father Mark, Father Alan and Protodeacon Stefan wish for you, your family and friends, wherever they may be a very Merry and Holy Christmas and a Happy and Blessed New Year. May you experience the Peace of Christ this Christmas. May the many blessings of Christ’s Birth fill your hearts with peace, joy and love, and may this make us a more loving, caring and obedient People of God. As a People of God we will ensure that Christ is kept in Christmas.

THE LESSON AT BETHLEHEM

From the Child in the manger, we are given the answer of the spirit that we need: we are taught love, not hate; forgiveness, not bitterness; we are shown that we should make ourselves poorer to help those who have less than we. If we want peace in our hearts, in our homes, our country and our world, we must come to Bethlehem and learn from Christ. A Child shall lead us. He has come to direct our feet in the way of peace. "Therefore, the Lord Himself will give you a sign; behold a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel." Isaiah 7:14

Welcome! Вітаємо! We extend a warm welcome to all our parishioners and visitors today, as we together, celebrate the Birth of Our Lord . We are glad that you have come to worship with us and pray that your participation in our parish will be enriching to you.
