Cleo collar with flower broach detail

Collar Gauge 8 stitches x 4 rows = 5 cms x 5 cms

Yarn for the collar1 ball x Wendy Supreme 100% cotton chunky 83 m

Shade/Colour 1425

Accessories 3 buttons any style (1 cm diameter)

Crochet hook:5 mm / H8

Stitches abbreviations:Chain stitches ch(s)

Slipstitch (sl st)Treble crochet (trc)

Foundation row Chs 52.

Row 1Work 1 trc into the 3rd stitch, continue working 1 trc into each stitch (50 stitches in total)

Row 2 Turn. Ch 2, work 1 trc into each stitch (50 stitches in total)

Row 3Turn. Ch 2, work 1 trc into the first stitch, work 2 trc into the 2nd stitch, work 1 trc into the 3rd stitch, work 2 trc into the 4th stitch, follow this pattern until you have completed the row, (75 stitches in total)

Row 4Turn. Ch 2, work 1 trc into each stitch (75 in total)

Row 5Turn. Ch 2, work 1 trc into each stitch (75 in total)

Row 6Turn collar on its side and ch 2 stitches, work 1 trc into each space, total of 10 trc stitches.sl st closed.

Row 7On the opposite side of the collar, work a sl st into the top of the collar and ch 2, work a trc into each space, total of 10 trc. Sl st closed.

Using a darning needle sew all of the yarn threads back into the crochet collar.

Hand sew the buttons in place into row 7. Space the buttons eveningly one at the top, middle and base of the side of the collar.

Push the buttons through row 6, in between the dc spaces. Finished collar size: 43 cms at the top, 8 cms width, 79 cms at the base of the collar.

Row 1 Work 1 dc into the 2nd stitch, 3 trc into the 3rd stitch, 3 dtrcs into the 4th stitch, 3 trc into the 5th stitch, 1 dc into the 6th stitch. Work 1 dc into the 7th stitch, 3 trcs into the 8th stitch, 3 dtrcs into the 9th stitch, 3 trcs into the 10th stitch, 1 dc into the 11th stitch. Repeat until the end of the row. Sl st closed. (You should have 6 petals created along the foundation row.)

Roll the petals loosely around in a circle as shown in the pictures. Sew in position.

Row 1Work 1 dc into the 2nd, 1 dc into the 3rd stitch, work 1 trc into the 4th stitch, 1 trc into the 5th stitch, work 1 dtrc crochet into the 6th stitch, 1 dtrc into the 7th stitch, work 1 trc into the 8th stitch, 1 trc into the 9th stitch, work 1 dc into the 10th, 1 dc into the 11th stitch.

Row 2Turn the crochet upside down and repeat the same set of stitches into the bottom of the chain.Slipstitch the final stitch into the first stitch created and pull the yarn through.

Making up the flower broach

Sew in all the yarn on the leaves and lay the leaves over each other. Place the flower on top of the leaves.

Sew the leaves in position at the back of the flower. Repeat on the second flower and leaves.

Place the 2 completed flowers side by side and sew together, position the broach back in the middle of the flowers and sew in place.

The broach can now be attached to the collar or used independently.
