CLEO BODYTiffiny has penned a book,

Weightloss Warrior. How To Win TheBattle Within (Hardie Grant, $34.95),which teaches everyday people how:o live by her "ninja" philosophy inDrder to get healthy, feel great andose weight. So what's it all about?

the philosophyHffiny's method is a holistic mind,Dody and spirit approach to health.'On The Biggest Loser, I found thatA/eight is emotional. Fat is feelings,3nd if you don't resolve yournindset and your emotions, then:he kilos will always come back."

The Weightloss Warrior philosophyjims to change your way of thinkingor life, rather than presenting youvith a new fad diet. "If anything, it'sjn anti-fad diet approach," she says. The importance of healthy eating,)uilding a positive self-image andBecoming a warrior within comesrom making that daily commitmenthrough healthy decisions."

Try Tiffiny's "Ninja 1-second diet",vhich is simply making the snapdecision not to go on another crazeJiet ever again. "Fad diets can causerreversible body damage. They throwfour hormones out of whack, eat awaynuscle mass, alter your biochemistrymd brain chemistry to store fat, andncrease fat cells when you bingeafter the diet is over," she says.

your eating pl<:Hffiny's mantra for maintaining alealthy diet is simple: eat naked.'People always say, 'I'm not stripping>ff to eat!'," she laughs. "But I'm talkingabout consuming food that isn't)rocessed, that is, as close to the source

possible." When you eat processedbods, you're letting nasty additives intofur body and keeping nutrients out.

Tiffiny also warns of the dangersL"the invisible fat" - sugar - andtommends steering clear of it. "Sugar

"health is likea martial arterms of it beirva discipline, itcommitmenthave to makeevery day thealthy chc

is very bad, because our bodies don'tactually have an inbuilt detectionsystem to tell us when we've hadenough. It's also an appetite stimulant,so we eat way too much of it."

keeping activeWhen it comes to fitness and exercise,Tiffiny has two rules. The first is tojoin what she has dubbed "The Gymof Life", which is trying to stay activeall day. "Whether that is taking thestairs instead of the lift, marching onthe spot while you're doing the dishes, walking to work ... we're not designedto just move for 30 minutes, threetimes a week at the gym. Our bodies

have been built to operate all the time!"The second rule is to find an activity

that you really enjoy doing, becausethen you'll be more likely to actuallydo it! "I think a lot of people get lockedinto thinking, 'I have to run 10km onthe treadmill', but the WeightlossWarrior method is all about makingyou have fun on your journey to betterhealth - it's not about deprivation orpunishment." If the thought of runningon the same spot for an hour makesyou cringe, try an energy-filled class, like aerobics or Zumba. Or take upan outdoor activity, such as cyclingor swimming. Just make sure it'ssomething you'll want to do again.

a new thinkingThe mind is an integral part of theWeightloss Warrior philosophy, becauseTiffiny aims to change your way ofthinking entirely. "Once you make themental commitment to health, thenyou want to make better choices foryourself, and your body just follows,"she says. "Always concentrate on theend goal being health, and get ridof that idea that it's about a diet, anumber on the scales or a dress size." D
