Clear and trouble-free communication is a must during deployments. Especially when it comes to environments with high noise levels such as fires and other disasters, it’s crucial that firefighters and rescue personnel are able to rely on their communication systems.

Easy communication under the hardest of conditions

Every deployment brings its own set of challenges and dangers: poor visibility, extreme noise levels or other disruptive factors just to name a few. That is why you need a communication system that stands up to all kinds of conditions, while making sure that everything you and your team say is clearly understandable. What’s more, it needs be resistant against heat, water, dust and mechanical elements.

The communication systems from Dräger are made, tested and used in the most demanding conditions, whether worn under breathing apparatus, mounted on the helmet, with active hearing protection, or worn independently. Thanks to their ease of operation and best voice quality, it supports your mission optimally, wherever you are.

In industry and fire services, rescue teams and workers are often exposed to situations involving tremendous noise levels that require the use of hearing protection. During such times, it is

important to be able to understand radio messages and communicate clearly. Dräger’s solution has a lean and robust design offering excellent sound quality.

Communication systems with hearing protection

TECHNICAL FEATURES OF THE DRÄGER ANP-COMThe combination of active hearing protection and radio communication unit is excellent for use in working environments with a very high noise level. Integrated external microphones suppress loud noises and amplify the frequencies in human speech. A connection to the radio device enables users to understand radio messages. Three types of microphones available (throat, swan neck and bone conduction microphone) enable users to send radio messages and ensure effective communication even in loud environments. Additionally, the system is characterised by its slim-cup design to ensure wearing comfort.

Our wide array of products and solutions means that you are sure to find the right communication system for portable transmitter units and protective equipment. This also includes all communication systems for use with breathing masks. The sound of one’s own breathing, as well as poor view can greatly impair communication. That is why our microphones are mounted directly on the speech

membrane of the mask. This way, each spoken word is clearly transmitted. It has been shown that clear communication significantly reduces the amount of stress while wearing breathing- or chemical protective suits. The well-established Dräger FPS 7000 and Panorama Nova masks can be outfitted with selected systems at any time.

Communication and breathing protection

TECHNICAL FEATURES OF THE DRÄGER FPS®-COM 5000 Communication unit for the Dräger FPS® 7000 full-face mask has a variety of features. Improved speech quality due to the new microphone design in the mask and digital breathing sound reduction. Two voice amplifiers and connections for a number of different radio devices (direct and indirect via Dräger Control Units) available. The newly developed click-lock system allows simple, tool-free attachment. Also suitable for use in mining and tunnel firefighting when combined with the Dräger PSS® BG4 plus.
