INDO Pro-Portion EV:

Our EcoLogo certified EV products are designed to provide a complete cleaning system for commer-cial and industrial sites. EV products are: readily biodegradable, have no ozone depletion potential, have no harmful fumes or hidden toxins, do not contain phosphates, do not contain dyes or fra-grances.

Going Low VOC

Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are as ubiquitous in indoor environments as dandeli-ons are on lawns. There is no way to completely avoid them when they come from everything from paints and strippers, to photocopiers, and even the copy paper. VOCs can cause a variety of health problems, therefore, it is im-portant to cut down on VOCs entering a facility where possible. All our EV products are low/no VOC, making them ideal for a cleaning program that promotes a healthy indoor environment.

GREEN CLEANING WITH W.E. GREER LTD. More businesses are becoming environmentally savvy. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified buildings are on the rise, and companies that offer cleaning systems that target these types of cleaning environments will be ahead of the curve. Our “Green Cleaning” brochure highlights products that are con-sidered “green”. But what does that mean to us? We know that any-one can call a product green, so the majority of products we recom-mend are backed up by a third party certification.

Certifications:

EcoLogo™ (ecologo.org) - EcoLogo is Canada’s official mark of environmental leadership. The program ensures that products being advertised as “Environmentally Friendly” adhere to strict guidelines that ensure a truly environmentally friendly product. Meets interna-tional ISO 14024 standard for environmental labels.

FSC® (fsccanada.org) - The Forestry Stewardship Council pro-vides a structure for best forestry management practices, including protection of high conservation value forests, protection of water-ways, respect of Aboriginal and local communities, and protection of natural wildlife habitats. Green Seal® (greenseal.org) - Green Seal products contain 100% recycled fiber and 65% post-consumer materials by fiber weight. They also meet strict environmental standards for bleaching, deink-ing and packaging; and contain no added inks, dyes, or fragrances. Growing Green™ - Merfin’s own seal for products that contain 100% recycled paper, and do not use chlorine or similar chemicals in the paper making process that are harmful to the environment. Carpet and Rug Institute Seal (carpet-rug.org) - The CRI moni-tors equipment for air quality, noise pollution and chemical efficiency to ensure healthy and environmentally friendly cleaning.

An integral part of an green clean-ing program is dilution control. Dilu-tion control prevents the overuse of cleaning chemicals, saving money and minimizing impact on the environ-ment. We offer a variety of different tools that will dilute cleaning chemical, in-cluding the Taskmizer, Multiflex, and Hydro Foamer. Also, many Nilfisk-Advance ma-chines (back page) offer EcoFlex dilution control systems, and the Hillyard C3XP (next page) is also a mobile dilution control system.

Matting Systems:

Reduce cleaning time and chemical use with a good entrance matting sys-tem. Mats can trap up to 80% of the dirt coming through the door. Less dirt means less cleaning product and water required to clean the area. Speak with one of our Consultants regarding customized matting options, including logo printing.

Touch Free Washroom Cleaning:

The C3XP Touch Free Washroom Cleaner is an ideal tool for reducing water waste, while using on-board dilu-tion control to minimize the chemical required to do the job.

TOOLSMicrofibre:

Microfibre cloths and mops help reduce cleaning chemical usage and water waste. Mi-crofibre uses a capillary action and a positive charge to draw dust and dirt in, and can pick up soil as small as bac-teria. When used as recommended, microfibre minimizes the risk of cross contamination. It is also extremely durable — microfibre cloths and mops can be washed between 500 and 1000 times, compared to the 55 to 200 times for conventional cloths.

PAPER We carry a wide range of FSC and EcoLogo certified paper, most containing 100% recycled content. Combine “green” paper, with dispensers that control the amount of product being pulled, and you have a system which minimizes waste and resources.

Many of the ma-chines have features that are ideal for envi-ronmentally friendly cleaning programs: CRI Certification (carpet-rug.org): The Carpet and Rug Institute awards cer-tification to carpet equipment that meets rigid specifications for air quality, noise pollution, and chemical efficiency. MultiLevelFiltration: Multiple levels of filtration help to clean the air that is pulled through the machine, increasing air quality. HEPA: HEPA filters are able to filter out up to 99.97% of all particles greater than 0.3 micrometer from the air that passes through it. ec-H2Oandec-H2ONanoClean: Re-duce, and in some cases, eliminate the use of cleaning chemicals with ec-H2O technology. This innovative feature on many Tennant scrubbers turns water into an effective and cost-efficient cleaner. ec-NanoClean technology is National Floor Safety Institute (NFSI) certi-fied, may contribute to LEED or LEED-EBOM certification, and is independantly tested and by NSF international, a public health and safety organization. ReadySpace®: This technology allows carpet cleaning equipment to turn around an area in a reduced amount of time. The technology reduces moisture, also reducing risk of mois-ture-seeking moulds and mildews.

In addition, most battery powered equipment can be ordered with Gel and AGM batteries, which last longer, do not require maintenance, and reduce resources and waste during pro-duction.
