How doesDry Ice clean?
This picture shows solid
dry ice subliming into
CO2 gas. You can see
the gas as water vapour
streaming away from
the ice very fast.
This same process can happen when a dry ice particle hits a dirty surface and the dry ice gets trapped in the dirt. When the dry ice is trapped in the dirt the CO2 gas can only get away if it
pushes the dirt out of the way. This is how dry ice can clean.
When many small pieces of dry ice hit a surface very fast a lot of energy is released because the impact energy converts the solid ice into large volumes of CO2 gas. As this gas escapes it takes
the dirt with it, usually as a fine dust.

Blast Nozzles
Nozzle S/25-50-75-W
Nozzle A90/25-W
The DX-3000 Blaster can be used with all Clean Surface blast nozzles that have a dual trigger line, including those supplied with the earlier CSL 2000 model. There are two new nozzles:
S/25-50-75-W, a multipurpose nozzle that is supplied with 4 interchangeable diffusers.
The 25 diffuser is round and has an air capacity of 2.5 m3/min at 5.5 bar.
The 50 diffuser is round and has an air capacity of 5.0 m3/min at 7.5 bar.
The 75 diffuser is round and has an air capacity of 7.5 m3/min at 9.5 bar.
The W diffuser, shown in the photograph on the left, has an air capacity of 3 m3/min at 7 bar and has a wide cleaning path.
A90/25-W is designed for use on the lower operating range of the DX-3000.
The design capacity of the nozzle is 2.5 m3/min at 5.5 bar, but it will function at lower pressures if a pressure reducing valve is fitted to the blaster.
It is light in weight and ideal for use in the electronics sector and for easy to remove soils.
All air volumes and pressures mentioned above are design values. The nozzles can also be successfully used at lower and higher pressures.
Higher pressure will give faster and more efficient cleaning.
Lower pressure will give slower and more gentle cleaning. If the pressure is too low the dry ice speed will be too slow and cleaning will stop.
