Mr Wheelan said: ‘‘We’re really excited to start school in a brand new facility.’’ ‘‘We have about 50 students that will start this year including some former students from Hope,’’ Mr Wheelan said of students formerly enrolled at Hope Christian School at Narellan which closed last month. Theresa Park mum Sandra Pavone said the new, permanent buildings were a drawcard when she sought a new school for her three children. Zac will start year 2 next week and sister Alicia will be in year 1. Their brother Alec will begin prep. ‘‘What was also very appealing was that the school will go up to year 12,’’ Mrs Pavone said. Oran Park Anglican is a campus of the 1400-student Thomas Hassall Anglican at West Hoxton which Mrs Pavone said was a ‘‘bonus because of its good reputation’’. ‘‘The kids are super excited. It’s a new school, a new start for every child regardless of what year they’re in and that the class sizes will be small is very appealing,’’ she said. There won’t be too many first day jitters, Mrs Pavone said, because the students were treated to a family day barbecue and orientation even- ing last Friday. Construction has begun on another two new schools also in Oran Park. St Justin’s Primary School and St Benedict’s Catholic College will be co-located on Oran Park Drive and will cater for 840 primary and more than 1000 high school students when they are completed. Students from St Benedict’s are housed at Mt Carmel Catholic High School at Varroville and St Justin’s pupils are based at St Paul’s Primary School in Camden.
