Pony for Sale – Raglan Rose – ‘Rosie’

14.1hh English Riding Pony - Dark bay Mare - 17/18 years old - $3300

I have owned Rosie since May 2008. On her way to me, she had a slip in the float

with the previous owners causing her to put her poll and atlas joints out of place.

After a few months of a very grumpy pony who did not like saddles or being ridden

and was very girthy I had some Equine Touch done on her which is when I found

out about the injuries. After this she was a totally different horse who was

happier and easier to get along with. However there were some residual saddle

issues which I was able to resolve when I started Parelli. In the 4 ½ years that I

have owned Rosie I have learnt so much from her and made a lot of progress. It

took a while after this floating accident to get her happy in the float again. Now

we are at the stage where it only takes a few minutes to load and we are not far away from self-loading.

She is mainly a left-brained introvert. Good with traffic; cars,

motorbikes, bikes etc but can get a little right-brained with tractors,

rattly trailers and the like. She is getting much better with these

and I don’t think it would take a lot more work to desensitize her to

them. She was shod when I got her but I had her shoes removed and

she has been barefoot trimmed ever since. Her hooves can get a bit

sensitive on gravelly roads at times. I no longer cover her and she

handles Nelson winter fine. Also left her uncovered for all but a few

stormy, sleety nights of a Central Otago winter where we used to live.

She keeps her condition well with only hay and grass – no extra hard

feed.

I have ridden her on roads and at the beach. I have taken her into water such as lakes and the beach; although

she is still getting used to waves. She can jump although I have not done much jumping in the past couple of

years as we have been working more on our flatwork. She is used to being ridden alone but also is good with

other horses. She has been in a paddock alone and with other horses, sheep and cows at various stages all of

which she is fine with.

I have had limited access to Parelli resources because of lack of finances but have had natural lessons for the

past year and a bit during which we have made heaps of progress. I feel like she is capable of more than what I

have done with her but due to my limited knowledge we never got there although we still have done a lot of very

cool stuff and had lots of fun over the years. She is a very bright little pony. LOVES when you scratch her and

find all her itchy spots.

Selling as I am off to uni next year but will be extremely sad to see her go. I will only sell her to a natural

home with the knowledge or the access to knowledge that will allow her new owner to make the most of her.

Also have Wintec Wide saddle with adjustable gullet system for sale.

Horse for Sale – Rem ‘Rembrandt’

I am changing my circumstances and as a result Rem (Rembrandt)

needs a new home. If you can help please contact me, his details

are below. Regards, Rhonda Jardine

Rembrandt is a Percheron x WB Trakehner x TB turning 9 in Dec

this year. He is just under 16hh (guessing height)

LBI with some RB tendencies. He is not the dominant horse in a

herd, but playful.

Attended L2/3 clinic with

Jackie Chant. Started by

Russell Higgins as a 2 year old

but left until 7 to really work as he just wasn’t physically ready. I

have owned him since 8mths old, hence only knows Parelli. Has

always been barefoot. Would benefit from hacking and getting

out in the world.

He is L3/4 and started GOC work. Very connected to your seat and body language.

Has issues with confinement but slowing getting more confident.

Very loving horse who loves his food and his friends, also very playful at liberty!

Currently he is out of work and in well rounded winter condition. Quality home is more important than

price! If you are interested please email me, [email protected]

Horse for Sale – Bounce

Bounce is approximately 9 -10 years old Appaloosa

cross. He is a bay roan with Appaloosa spots on his

rear. Approx 14.1 hh

Bounce has was restarted about 7 years ago using

Parelli Natural Horsemanship methods, I bought

him about 5 years ago and continued using Parelli

and Bounce is consistently working in level 3 in all

three savvy’s. We have attended several clinics and most recently the Level 3/4 North Island Super

Camp in March 2012.

Online and Liberty at level 3 are currently working really well,

however I lack the confidence in the saddle to help Bounce

achieve level 3 Freestyle riding.

Being a Right Brain Extrovert (RBE) Bounce needs a confident

and capable rider to help him become more confident and

overcome his fears. RBEs are movers and they need to move

before they can think, once his energy is focused Bounce

becomes more self-controlled and can think more clearly. I am

a Right Brain Introvert and I am struggling to be a good enough

leader for Bounce. A better match would be a more

extroverted person than me.

Bounce has been on a few trail rides, several clinics and camps,

out and about over farms and Equestrian Parks and just loves

to round things up. Give Bounce a job or focus and he is happy.

Currently ridden in a rope hackamore. I have recently been experimenting with a Parelli cradle bridle

and he has accepted having a bit in his mouth. Has been barefoot all his life and is good over all

terrain.

I have a Parelli horsenality report for Bounce which any

interested parties are encouraged to read to understand

Bounce better.

For sale to approved home only. Would suit a confident

teenager or small adult. Definitely no beginners.

No trials or leases as this would confuse Bounce too much,

but happy for you to come and ride and play with him as

much as you want to before purchase.

$3,000 o.n.o.

Horse for Sale – Anthem

I have a fabulous 3 year old Quarter Horse filly (born

30/10/09) for sale. Known as Anthem, she is

registered with the Quarter Horse association as

Cascading Anthem. It looks like Anthem will mature at

about 14.2-14.3hh, and she is a fabulous, deep red

chestnut with a bit of bling. Her mother is Xena, who

is registered as “Mellow Yellow, and Anthem is by

Beaver Doc Bingo (Ice).

I have too many horses to do them all justice, and

Anthem would thrive on playing & fun in her life as

well as education, and I’m just not able to give it to her. Also Anthem doesn’t look as though she is

going to be up to my ample weight, so it would be best for her to go to a new home.

I imprinted Anthem and she has got the games on

her, and leads, trims her feet, ties and floats.

Anthem has been to Russell Higgins, Parelli 4*

Instructor and Horse Development Specialist to get

educated with tying up, as I don’t have facilities for

safely teaching that, and to do more with floating.

Anthem is a happy and inquisitive LBE. She is first

to the gate to see what is going on, and if she didn’t

get there first, she runs up to see what she might

be missing out on! Anthem is very friendly and

enjoys human company, and she has always run in a

herd, so she knows how to behave like a horse.

I want for her to go to a Parelli home where she will continue her learning and have more time spent on

her than I can give her. Being a young horse, she requires an amount of savvy, as well as being a LBE –

they love to challenge everything!

I am asking $2,500 ono. If you are interested in finding out more, please phone Wendy on 09 232

5551 or email [email protected] I have a wee video of a play at the local riding club as well as

a play in the paddock, so email me for that if you are interested.

Photos are of Anthem, Xena (mum) & Ice (dad).

Horse for Lease or Possible sale

Ali - lease or possible sale. Approx 16.3hh grey mare. RBE.

Approx 14years old. Gorgeous nature, awesome 7games and

extensions of the games (Super soft, all phase one). Barely

ridden due to my ill health but has given me two beautiful

foals in the time I've had her (most recent was born Oct

2010)

Going to waste in a paddock at my parents' as I'm too sick

to even look after her now letalone ride or play. Would

dearly love to see her loved and out there doing a bit. She

came to me having been badly treated but just looks for a leader so if you treat her right, she is

incredible to be with. Amazing paces and the few times I did ride her, she didn't put a foot wrong,

despite having been turned out so long.

Lacks a bit of confidence being floated but really is great given how little I've transported her or

worked on the issue (again due to my health). Each time I have floated her I've just done some

preparation with the games etc then taken a bit of time and given her time to be happy in the float

before closing the door and she then travels like a gem. I really haven't found it a problem other than

needing a bit of time and this will improve greatly with regular practice.

If feeding hay, needs to be from haynet as she's had a couple of partial chokes, vet scoped her, found

she is a roarer (so wouldn't make a good galloper but otherwise not an issue) and said this may or may

not have even caused the problem or it may be she just ate the hay too fast. To be safe he said feed

from hay nets, we've done that and never had a problem since.

Really want something great for Ali as don't want her just to waste away for the rest of her days

doing nothing. She has so much to offer, too much to waste.

Enquiries: Nikki Tyrrell, [email protected] 027 232 7317 / 03 303 3108

In this picture – Ali’s on the left (as looking at pic), Jessi her daugther on right. Jessi is also available

for sale or lease, currently in light work with a friend (refer ad below)

Horse for Sale or Possible lease - Sunny

Sunny – 2 year old (as at 24th Oct 2012) Irish hunter gelding out of my

mare Ali by Coalman's Touch.

Approx 15.3hh with plenty of growing and filling out to do.

Will consider lease or purchase. I bred Sunny for myself as he is the type

of horse I like to work with but I have severe and ongoing health issues so

I don't want this boy to go to waste.

Well handled, very friendly, good basic 7games etc. Very bold. Confident

on his own or in herd - not herd bound, not bossy with other horses or in

paddock. Unsure yet if he's predominantly LBI or LBE - I haven't worked

with him in a while but he is very food orientated and can be a bit heavy

on his draw so I'm suspicious he's leaning toward LBI.

Definitely chilled out about life though, nothing's a drama for him. Curiosity overcomes his fear every

time. Excellent to float, tie up, trim, worm, catch etc. No issues with plastic bags or tarps as have

played a lot with those. Really a stunning young horse. Bred to jump, great paces so he has masses of

potential.

Very confident in himself so will need a strong, proactive leader to keep him interested and respectful

whilst still allowing him to be himself

Asking price $6000 ono. Includes insurance policy current until 14 December 2012 (renewable at new

owners' cost if desired, or upon agreement in a lease situation). Currently grazed a few minutes out of

Ashburton

Horse for sale - Jessi

Jessi (the darker of the two greys, pictured on the right

with her Mum, Ali) - quarter horse x TB cross out of my

grey mare Ali, by American 1/4horse stallion Lena's

playboy.

9 years old (as at September 2012), approx 16hh.

LBE - Excellent 7 games, good to catch, worm, float, trim

feet etc (hasn't ever been shod as had no need).

Confident, not fearful, very rewarding to play with,

responds brilliantly to Parelli approach.

Started late due to owner's ill health so has only had light riding but

hasn't put a foot wrong since being started under saddle. Owner

chronically ill so needing to sell Jessi to someone who can take her

places.

She has stunning paces and a good jump on her with loads of

potential. Super intelligent and inquisitive, fast learner. No injuries

and no hangups other than can sometimes be a bit bossy in the

paddock. 'Respect at feedtime' games soon sorts that out though.

Asking price $2400 ono. Includes insurance policy sum insured $5000. Policy current until 7 March

2013

Selling at much less than her potential value due to her lack of work to date. Currently grazed just

south of Christchurch. Would consider free trial period but must then sell

As-New Parelli Fluidity GP English Saddle for Sale

This saddle has seen little use – not more than a dozen rides

since I bought it. Not long after the saddle arrived in New

Zealand I sold the horse that the saddle was intended for. The

saddle as been stored in the house and well looked after.

As anyone who has seen the Fluidity saddles knows the quality

of the leather and saddle construction is outstanding! There’s

lots of info about the saddle on the Parelli web site - they say it

better than I can!

I’m selling this saddle because it is now surplus to requirements,

and frankly I need the money! The saddle was purchased new

directly from Parelli Saddles in the USA, and cost me around

NZ$5000 (Savvy Club purchase price for unmounted saddle,

shipping and duty/GST).

Black, 17.5-inch seat, superwide gullet, unmounted.

Asking $4200 – this is a bargain for a saddle that is virtually new!
