Cooperative Extension is a nationwide, educational network that combinesthe expertise and resources of federal, state, and local governments toimprove people’s lives. This position will work specifically with the NutrientManagement Program. The goal of the Nutrient Management Program isto improve water quality in Delaware while maintaining the profitability ofagriculture and other businesses involved in land application of nutrients.Under the general direction of the Nutrient Management Specialist(Associate Professor), the Program Coordinator will provide day to daysupport of operations and manages specific programs in support of theSpecialist. A limited amount of direct educational programming will occuraround nutrient management. This is a grant-funded position & reappoint-ment will be contingent on availability of funds & satisfactory performance.
Major Responsibilities:• Prepare marketing materials and strategies for promotion of agricultural
nutrient management related Extension programs.• Use social media, newsletters and other avenues to promote the nutri-
ent management programing and educational materials.• Plan, implement, and evaluate nutrient management certification ses-
sions and continuing education programs under the direction of theExtension Specialist and/or Agent.
• Respond to phone and email inquiries regarding certification and con-tinuing education.
Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree, and one year of related experience, or an equivalent
combination of education and experience. A degree in agriculture or arelated discipline is preferred.
• Knowledge of Extension and youth and/or adult education methods.• Proficiency w/MS Office products incl Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.• Organizational, management and human relations skills.
Special Requirements: • Position requires some evening and weekend work.• Valid driver’s license and reliable means of transportation required.• Employment contingent upon passing comprehensive background check
