GAUGE: 18 sts and 15 rows = 4" in Half Double Crochet. Take time to save time, check your gauge.

PATTERN STITCHES:Chain (ch): Begin by making a slip knot on your hook. Wrap the yarn around the hook (yarn over) and draw it through the loop on the hook to form the first chain. Rep this step as many times as instructed. (The loop on the hook is never included when counting the number of chains).Slip Stitch (slip st): Insert hook in the indicat-ed stitch, yarn over and draw through both the stitch and the loop on the hook.Half Double Crochet (hdc): Yarn over hook, insert hook into indicated stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop; yarn over and draw through all three loops on hook. Single Crochet (sc): Insert hook in indicated stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop; yarn over and draw through both loops on hook.
