Number of segments in 1st antennae usually 17; the hyaline lamella of last segment of 1st antennae is notched with ventrally curved teeth. This common and wide spread species may be confused with Macrocyclops fuscus. The inner margin of the caudal rami containing hairs. The placement of the lateral spine on the caudal rami is nearly midway between last abdominal segment and terminal setae.
