In addition to outstanding musicianship, the hired candidate must be able to stand and march in a ceremonial formation for over 60 minutes and carry their instrument with no additional support for two or more miles. Additional inclusion of other marketable musical or non-musical skills should be reflected on the applicant's resume. Examples of other skills include arts administration experience, recording engineering experience, graphic design, or any other skills that may be valuable in a large, self-produced performing ensemble. General Information x The West Point Band performs for events in support of the United States Military Academy, and for local, national, and international audiences. Events include (but are not limited to) public concerts, ceremonies, parades, sporting events, chamber music, recordings, and television and/or media appearances. x Military personnel should also submit their Enlisted Records Brief, three years of performance evaluation reports, Commander’s Intent to Release memo, and an Official DA Photo. x Employment is contingent upon qualification for Army enlistment and a minimum four-year service contract. Finalists will be individually notified via phone. *Tuition assistance is available for further professional development up to Master’s Degree completion.
