Constitution – document that set up gov’t, spells out our rights
Amendments – changes/additions to the Constitution
Bill of Rights – First 10 amendments – protect rights of individuals!
Civil Liberties – freedoms we all have in USA, protected by law

silent (“plead the fifth”)
Sixth Amendment – right to an attorney-- speedy trial

leave it out and we’ll discuss it.
Civic Duty – things required by law for the benefit of the country
Civic Responsibility – things you SHOULD do to help the country, be a good citizen

One way to become a citizen is through naturalization. Naturalization is when you take a test, and pass certain requirements.
