DOCK SCHEDULING SOLUTION Why Why Why Why Invest? (Case Study)Invest? (Case Study)Invest? (Case Study)Invest? (Case Study)
• Barangaroo is one of Sydney’s CBD’s most congested areas.
• International Towers has one access ramp to 90 underground docks servicing the site.
• There are currently 32 retailers, 11,000 office workers and 1,200 residents.
• The limited capacity for vehicles to queue at street level required a fresh approach to managing this traffic.

THE RESULTS • Capability to dynamically manage arrivals to “Virtual Docks” created at street
level when operational issues prevented use of the underground loading docks;
• Fast turnaround times for carriers, balanced freight volumes for the dock team, ambiance for the precinct and access for tenants; and
• Providing direct notifications to couriers on any unscheduled closure of the docks preventing them approaching the site.
THE RESULTS Financial: • Barangaroo South has maximised its use of premium real estate, translating
into increased residential and commercial space.
Operational: • Drivers are provided with specific times and guaranteed access for deliveries.
This prevents congestion on busy city streets while drivers look for loading zones, saving the delivery firms and their customers’ time and money.
• Reduction of operational risk associated with many truck movements in a high traffic zone.
• Dock management access valuable analytics regarding tracking the arrival and departures of each load.
Sustainability • Queuing times have been eliminated which also has dramatically reduced
truck idle time at Street Level.
CONNECTING OUR COMMUNITY
• Over 95% of appointment bookings being made and approved automatically via the web with NO INTERACTION required from Dock Management
• 90,000 executed appointments • Average Vehicle Dwell time
onsite is 20 minutes• Congestion is eliminated • Unauthorised vehicles being
identified before entry• Duration and purpose of visits
known before and during deliveries increasing site security
Average of 7,100 Appointments per Month
EMERGENCY RESPONSE At 10:40 AM - 9 Nov 2016, a crane malfunctioned on the 51st floor of Tower One, leaving a Cherry Picker dangling precariously over high traffic areas. All incoming deliveries were cancelled and carriers notified.
MobileDOCK was used to:• Cancel and broadcast all incoming
bookings• Close the site to any additional
bookings • Selectively enable priority deliveries to
be automatically approved • No congestion, No confusion, 100%
visibility
EMERGENCY RESPONSE Sydney Water’s sewer line was compromised south of the Waterman’s Quay.
The NSW Police and Barangaroo Development Authority closed Hickson Road at Napoleon street.
This led to the issue of not having the ability to get deliveries, in talks with BDA and the NSW police, we relocated our loading dock from B2 to street level and implemented digital signage.
MobileDOCK handheld was used to filter appointments and continue dock operations as usual.
The push message system was used several times to those booked in.
