    1/4

The City Council is currently considering amendments to its Rules, to promote a more fair, effective, and transparent

    Council.

The Council held its first public hearing on the issue on February 24th, with testimony from good government groups, not -

for-profit organizations, and interested New Yorkers. You can review the Committee Report, testimony, and transcript, or

watch the video of the hearing.

At this time, Speaker Mark-Viverito would like your input on potential changes. Please complete the following survey by

Friday, March 28th. Your answers will be recorded anonymously.

After the surveys are compiled, and considered along with public testimony and additional research, the Speaker will

bring a set of proposals to the Democratic and Republican Caucuses for discussion. After that discussion, a proposal will

be put forward for an additional public hearing in the Rules Committee, and eventually brought to the floor.

If you have any questions, please contact Ivan Luevanos, in Member Services, at [email protected], 212 -788-

    Thank you for your input.
