Once the first area is corrected, if there are any other invalid areas, the error message will be displayed one at a time for each invalid area.

Shift Change under CAD utilities has been changed so when you press F1 to put a Unit on Duty, a window opens up with the Unit-s Personnel and Areas to be changed. Also changed the Shift Change program to use “CAD” instead of “UTL” for color Pattern/module Initials.

If you do not enter Areas while putting the Unit In-Service and hit the OK button and there is an Invalid area you will see the following message

When doing a shift change for E-CAD, if you have * in the Unit’s shift field, it will be reset to the shift that you are putting on duty.

Shift Changes

Changed E-CAD Dispatcher to validate the Areas that are entered when putting a Unit In Service/On Duty. If an invalid area is entered then this message is displayed.

The E-Cad dispatcher and Complaint Taker programs have been changed so if the Call Location is changed to a Common Place that the Caller’s Phone Number will only be updated with the Phone Number of the Common Place if the Caller’s Phone Number is blank.

The Business and Business Phone number can now be entered or changed through Dispatcher and Complaint Taker.

A Floor Number can be added in the Dispatch screen and Calls for Service module when the Apartment Number has been filled in.

When using Intersections for the Location with E-CAD complaint taker or dispatcher the Intersection Description will be displayed in the Remarks if they are blank.

Page 13: CISCO USER GROUP Version 12 Training. Formally Advanced Computer Aided Dispatch A-CAD

When the dispatcher gets to the unit recommendation portion of the entry screen, if escape is pressed, the dispatcher will be asked: “Are you sure you want to cancel the unit recommendation?” If yes is chosen, the call will be queued on the pending side. If no is selected, the recommendation screen will remain. If you have more than one being recommended and you dispatch the first one and then hit the escape key, and answer the question yes, only the units not dispatched will be cancelled. Any units already dispatched will remain on call. If these were not the units you wanted, do a group clear and enter 99 for the disposition to return the call to the pending queue.

The screen above shows the entered call as the dispatcher receives the unit recommendations. The right portion of the screen now shows several actions that can be taken by the dispatcher;F1 – Send all unitsF2 – Premise HistoryF3 – Address Advisory (Business lookup inquiry)F4 – SOP/ Call advisoryF5 – NarrativeF6 – People/VehicleF 8 – View Associated BoloESC – Exit RecommendationIf the buttons are grayed out, there are no associated records for that location. The red line at the bottom reminds the dispatcher of actions that can be taken during dispatch. If you want the recommended unit, hit enter to accept, that moves the next unit into the blue box. If you want a different unit not recommended, type the new unit in the white box and hit enter. Then the next unit moves into the blue box. If you want to skip that unit, hit tab. Or after the third one moves into the blue box, hit escape.

When a new call is initiated from either Complaint Taker or Dispatcher, once the location is entered, if there is a business related to that address, a new button will appear called View Business. This button stays current throughout the completion of the call. It allows the dispatcher to access the business files for emergency contacts, preplan, hazmat, etc.

You can either press the button, use Alt V, or F3 for the business lookup inquiry. Once in the business lookup inquiry, the first two pictures in the directory belonging to that address will appear.Fax number has been added to the Business Lookup Inquiry.

When an on-scene call type is entered by the mobile, the Unit’s Active Call will be flagged by a yellow asterisk on the dispatcher’s screen, indicating a change.

The E-CAD dispatcher was changed to allow for an On-Scene call type to be entered. When you bring a call down for a change, there is a new Any Change code, the letter ‘O”. By entering this you will be able to enter an On Scene Call Type. There is also the letter B. By entering this you will be able to enter/change a business name and phone number.

If the call has not been transferred the message “Record not on File” will appear. If the Unit History record is not related to a call, then the message “unit History not associated with a call” will appear
