IntroductionThis document contains important information about installation procedures for the TZData Update for 2015Changes and 2015 Leap Second patch for Cisco SocialMiner. Apply this patch to Cisco SocialMiner Release10.5(1). For detailed information about the vulnerability itself, please refer to the Release-Note Enclosure ofthe CDETS listed below.

Before you install this patch, Cisco recommends that you review the Important Notes section for informationabout issues that may affect your system.

Determining the Software VersionTo determine the version of Cisco SocialMiner software that is running on your server, use the following CLIcommand:

admin:show version active

The output of the command should be similar to the following:

admin: show version activeActive Master Version: 10.5.1.xxxxx.

Installation InstructionsAs with any installation or upgrade, it is recommended that you apply this update during off-peak hours.

This package installs on the System Version: 10.5.1.10000-6.

You can install this patch from a remote source that the server being patched can access.

Back up your system data before starting the software upgrade process. For more information on back up,see the Disaster Recovery System Administration Guide.

Procedure stepsProcedure

Step 1 Download the COP file from Cisco.com and place the file on an FTP or SFTP server.Image name: platform-csa-ciscosm.dst-tzdata-2015a-el4.cop

Step 2 Using SSH, log in to your SocialMiner system with the platform administration account.Step 3 From the CLI, run the command utils system upgrade initiate.Step 4 Follow the instructions provided by the utils system upgrade initiate command. Choose the appropriate

option to select the cop file.Step 5 Use the CLI command utils system restart to reboot the system.Step 6 Verify that the system restarts.Step 7 Use the CLI command show version active to verify that the correct version is active. After a successful COP

file installation, the output from the command should be:

admin:show version activeActive Master Version: 10.5.1.10000-6Active Version Installed Software Options:platform-csa-ciscosm.dst-tzdata-2015a-el4.cop

Step 8 After you verify the presence of the new COP file, terminate your existing CLI session immediately. Ifadditional activities are required that make use of the CLI, initiate a new session to ensure that the CLI sessionis using the patched bash.
