New Features and Changed Features Cisco Prime Collaboration Provisioning 12.1 supports the following new features. Root Access Disable The root user login to access PCP cli that was available in earlier PCP version has been disabled as part of security improvements. You can now login as a troubleshooting user for a secured, time based, and limited access to the PCP functionalities. Eliminate Distributed Server Model From PCP 12.1 onwards, the need for distributed server model (two different servers for installing a very large scale setup) has been eliminated. Both the PCP application and database can be installed on the same server to support upto 150 K endpoints. Also, there are only 3 ova types available for installation to support a range of endpoint count from 3000 to 150 K. New Features and Changed FeaturesCisco Prime Collaboration Provisioning 12.1 supports the following new features.

Root Access Disable

The root user login to access PCP cli that was available in earlier PCP version has been disabled as part ofsecurity improvements. You can now login as a troubleshooting user for a secured, time based, and limitedaccess to the PCP functionalities.

Eliminate Distributed Server Model

From PCP 12.1 onwards, the need for distributed server model (two different servers for installing a verylarge scale setup) has been eliminated. Both the PCP application and database can be installed on the sameserver to support upto 150 K endpoints. Also, there are only 3 ova types available for installation to supporta range of endpoint count from 3000 to 150 K.

You, as a user with full access, can:

• Create a troubleshooting account (Administration > Logging and ShowTech) from Cisco PrimeCollaboration Provisioning to debug and monitor issues.

• Use a troubleshooting user interface to debug and monitor the Cisco Prime Collaboration Provisioningserver.

• Monitor the system activities such as memory usage and disk usage of the Cisco Prime CollaborationProvisioning server without root access.

• Use the troubleshooting user interface even when the Prime Collaboration Provisioning database orJBoss is down.

Phone Button Template in Service Templates

You can:

• Provision endpoints through the service templates using the Cisco Prime Collaboration Provisioninguser interface and batch.

• Preselect a phone button template when you create a service template for an endpoint.

• Choose the phone button template through the endpoint service templates for automatic serviceprovisioning and quick service provisioning.

• Select the Phone Button Template (Provisioning Attributes > Endpoint Information) when addinga service template through the Provisioning Setupmenu in the Cisco Prime Collaboration Provisioninguser interface.

• If model specific template is not set as default, and Universal Phone template is the default template,then the Universal template should get applied. If model specific template is set as default, then theselected phone button template is applied during quick service provisioning.

Provisioning of Directory URIs

• You can provision Directory URIs through the Line service template.

• You can add up to five Directory URIs.

• The template text field includes keyword support for Directory URI auto-creation along with partition.

• Supports a new keyword DIRECTORYURI in the service template. While creating a line template, ifthis keyword is used for a Directory URI, it will be replaced with the value set at user level.

• Template can include the Directory URI synchronized from LDAP.

Enable Attendant Console Standard through Batch

• You can enable Attendant Console Standard through batch provisioning from Cisco Unified CM 10.0and later versions. To enable, you must perform the following on the Cisco Unified CM:

• Create a new Access Control Group

• Assign Roles to Access Control Group

• Assign Application User

• Assign End User Account for Presence

• You can create, update, and delete the Access Control Group service through batch provisioning fromCisco Unified CM 10.0 and later versions.

• Supports add, change, and cancel operations through the batch provisioning.

• Supports the following attributes:

• Name

• End user(s) to group

• App user(s) to group

• Role(s)

• Support for Cisco Expressway Edge 8.9 and Cisco Expressway Core 8.9 fromCisco Prime CollaborationProvisioning user interface and batch.

• Provision the Cisco Expressway devices and Cisco Unified CM for Mobile and Remote Access andB2B Video Calling.

• The following infrastructure configuration objects are supported on the Expressway devices through thebatch:

• System > DNS > DNS settings

• System > DNS > Default DNS servers

• System > DNS > Per-domain servers

• Call Forward and Call Pickup Settings—Forward All

• Maximum Number of Calls

• Pattern

• Display Name

• You can enable the Transfer Rule feature through batch with all the supported attributes from CiscoUnified CM 10.0 and later versions.

Supports add, change, and cancel operations through the batch provisioning.

You can enable the Port Group feature through batch with all the supported attributes from Cisco Unified CM12.1 and later versions.

Supports add, change, and cancel operations through the batch provisioning.

The following attributes are supported for the Port Group object:

• Authentication Username

• Call Process IP Address

• Retry Interval After Successful Attempt

• Delay between Requests

• Maximum Concurrent Requests

• Register with SIP Server

• SIP Transport Protocol

• Authenticate with SIP Server

Read-only Access and Security Changes

• List application users in Cisco Prime Collaboration Provisioning and supports Service Provisioning forthe application users, mainly endpoint and line services.

• Add Controlled Devices to the application users.CheckManageCUCMApplicationUsers as ProvisioningUser checkbox in Cisco PrimeCollaborationProvisioning (Administration > Settings) to manage the application users. If the setting is enabled, theapplication user in Cisco Unified CM is synchronized in Prime Collaboration Provisioning and displayedon the User Provisioning page as a normal user. The devices associated to the application user in CiscoUnified CM are displayed in the customer record page

• For Cisco Prime Collaboration Release 12.1 and laterDisable write access for North Bound API (Read-Only Allowed)—This checkbox (Administration >Settings > General) is used to disable write access for North Bound API and allows only get and listrequests.

• Read only access for the NB-API: When Read only mode is set under the Administrator > SettingsPage , READ only NBI API`s are allowed to execute, when user tries to run WRITE API then it blocksthe execution of API, by displaying the AXIs fault error message.

All the API names starting with GET , LIST and PING are considered as the Read onlyAPI, remaining APIs are considered as WRITE APIs.

• You have the option to check the Include meeting information in Presence checkbox in Cisco PrimeCollaboration Provisioning (User Services) when provisioning a Jabber user.

• You can migrate from Cisco Prime Collaboration Provisioning 11.1 and above to 12.1 either throughDashboard orAdministration > Updates > LaunchMigration Tool in the Cisco Prime CollaborationProvisioning user interface. Using the Bug Search Tool

Use the Bug Search tool to search for a specific bug or to search for all bugs in a release.

1 Go to http://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch

2 At the Log In screen, enter your registered Cisco.com username and password; then, click Log In. TheBug Search page opens.

If you do not have a Cisco.com username and password, you can register for them athttp://tools.cisco.com/RPF/register/register.do
