Science for Moreton and the CommunityThe contribution that STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and maths) can make to the British and worldeconomy is widely recognised, not just in the political arenabut also by industry; consequently there is a growing nationalrecognition of the importance of recruiting more students andespecially women into STEM careers. At Moreton, we understandand are actively promoting the importance of STEM as potentialcareers.

The fourth annual Science Festival once again sees the school openingits doors to a vast array of industry experts and students from all agesand stages and from schools across the community.

All will benefit from the new innovative and progressive ScienceCentre which was completed in 2013. The facility is enhancing theprofile of Science with girls of all ages and is supporting Moreton’saim of being one of the top schools in the study of Science in thecountry. This facility is also forming the hub for a ground-breakingrelationship between Moreton, state schools and universities.Keele and Birmingham Universities are working alongsideMoreton’s Science Team delivering practical experimentationworkshops, lectures and seminars to our students and othersfrom nearby state schools; an important triangulationbetween independent schools, state schools and universities.
