CIDEON Import PDM supports you in replacing legacy systems and performs automatic import of mass data into

SAP. Re-imports may also be required in routine tasks, e.g. when CAD or Office documents are processed by external

designers or suppliers. This often poses problems regarding version and change management within different PLM/PDM

systems. This rental solution avoids time-consuming and manual data import processes into SAP, with less effort then

being required from both design and IT.

With the help of the CIDEON CAD Release Migrator, the recalculation of all components, assemblies, standard parts

and drawings stored in the SAP document management system (DMS) is performed fully automatically when a new

CAD release is implemented. Data quality is also guaranteed and the respective CAD functions can be used.

The DMS Log provides data security and

traceability for all access activity to a SAP

document info record (DIR) or to the origi-

nal processing files managed with the DIR,

e.g. which user has viewed, amended,

printed, deleted etc. which documents

from which computer with which transac-

tions. The tool offers extensive research

options with individualized displaying of

data and instant jumping to the DIR. The

DMS Log is especially useful where special

compliance is required in the product

development process.

The CIDEON Document Functions Manager (DFM) is a core user interface which

enables administrators to define, via simple configuration, follow-up actions according to

specific triggering SAP events. Users become aware of the DFM only indirectly, e.g. when

a CAD assembly is released and the status change triggers a background status check

on all installed structure elements, or when all unused content versions are to be deleted

automatically. If conflicts then exist, e.g. because the release can take place only after

being checked by 2 or 3 separate persons, users then receive system messages with

suggested courses of action.

The dialog of the CIDEON Status Change Assistant supports document status changing in complete CAD structures.

Using the SAP status system is greatly simplified for users while ensuring consistent release processes along the value chain.

The DCW offers an intuitive user interface for all document functions such as document creation, amendment and

versioning using corresponding icons and colors. The Document Creation Wizard offers a multitude of functions and

is an alternative for users without the SAP Engineering Control Center.

User-defined check mechanisms (e.g. top-down or bottom-up) for changes from an initial

status to specific target statuses are carried out in compliance with dependent structures

and with the relevant file storage in SAP (e.g. check-in of the original document for a check

status). This avoids errors that may occur due to manual or single status changes.

The Status Change Assistant is integrated within the SAP Engineering Control Center.

The CIDEON SAP ECTR Object Browser Addon extends the standard of the SAP® Engineering Control Center

Object Browser with individual tabs that display freely definable SAP content. Thus, users are able to display any object

information from the SAP system in a presentation tailored to their preferences, for example as a tree structure or in the

form of tables with additional detail views. At the same time, customer-specific labels can be stored and icons can be

displayed which inform or warn the user if mandatory fields or logistical relationships are not maintained and prevent the

continuation of development processes.

This add-on also offers many ways to improve work and test routines. Hence, customer-specific criticalities are not only

identified during the product development process, but users can also respond quickly through direct interaction.

Particularly useful for this purpose is the ability for immediate execution of object-dependent actions which the user

triggers from the popup menu on selected information elements.

In addition to the freedom to make function calls, such as the SAP standard modules, customer-specific function blocks

or those of third-party providers, it is also possible to activate further CIDEON add-ons, in particular the CIDEON Naming

Catalog, the CIDEON Document Function Manager and the CIDEON Status Change Assistant.

The CIDEON Title Block Change History offers

effortless input of a version history for any 2D CAD

drawing title block. Simple configuration enables

processing of parameters as well as fields to be

transferred to the title block. In this way, changes to

any SAP document meta/classification and status log

data, as well as information from the linked change

master records (e.g, change number, date of the

change, name of the person making the change, etc.)

are added to title blocks.
