March Events & HappeningsSATURDAY NIGHT CONCERT SERIESSaturdays, April 13, 20 at 7 p.m.Hill Country Galleria is hosting its popular Saturday Night Concert

Series in the Central Plaza from now through June 1. The series continues in the fall from September 14 through October 12. Guests can sit back, relax and enjoy this free event with family and friends on the Central Plaza. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs to lounge on the grassy lawn during the show and arrive early to shop and dine at Hill Country Galleria retailers and even get their meal delivered straight to the Central Plaza. April LineupApril 13 - Carson McHone BandYears before Rolling Stone was praising Carson McHone's rule-

breaking roots music, the Austin, Texas native played weeknights in local bars like The White Horse, keeping dancers dancing and drinkers drinking. With her 21st birthday still in the distance, McHone entertained late-night crowds bearing witness to the good times and bad decisions that fill a busy bar. It was a rare, raw education. She pumped her music full of details from an early adulthood spent in the company of the heartbroken and high-toleranced. In 2015, McHone released Goodluck Man which earned her a cover story in The Austin Chronicle as well as the support of local icons like Ray Wylie Hubbard, who said she "writes songs like her life depends on it." Then she hit the road, touring the U.S. (and beyond) with acts like Shakey Graves, Gary Clark, Jr., and Joe Pug. Her writing style widened and her music evolved. McHone’s 2018 release builds a similar bridge. Purposeful, pointed, and poignant, Carousel is a compelling ride.

April 20 - South Austin MoonlightersWhen Phil Bass, Chris Beall, Phil Hurley, and Lonnie Trevino Jr,

four established Austin TX musicians, decide to join forces and play together just because it’s fun, you’re going to get something special. Such is the case for The South Austin Moonlighters, a band that blends blues, folk, soul, rock, and country, who can flip the switch from slow melodic country to gravelly rocking blues without a hitch. Think Little Feat meets Los Lobos with a splash of The Flying Burrito Bros, and you start to peel away the many musical layers of sound that makes up the S.A.M. Using a four part harmony at times accompanied with some brilliant guitar playing, S.A.M. plays with a full-bodied sound, and puts off an aura of down to earth Southern Blues and Country Rock, that can make even coldest days seem warm. The Band mainly does Originals songs in their set and for the love of music, they throw in choice Covers that fans and newbie fans absolutely love.

Celebrating the tenth “Toast to Tony” anniversary, Beto and the Fairlanes return to the Spicewood Vineyards stage with special guests Javier Chaparro, Mitch Watkins and Tomas Ramirez.

Beto and the Fairlanes have been delighting audiences for 40 years with their original blend of jazz, swing and world beat music. In 2017 they were inducted into the Austin Music Hall of Fame and their star was installed on Corpus Christi’s Sound Texas Music Walk of Fame.

The band was founded in late 1970’s by Robert “Beto” Skiles, a native of San Antonio with degrees in music from UT-Austin and the University of North Texas. Skiles is well known as a jazz pianist in Austin.

“I expected the club to last no more than a year, maybe two at best,” Skiles said. “Well, miracle of miracles, as of this writing, Beto and the Fairlanes has flourished for over 40 years!”

During that magical music decade that was the ‘70’s, KUT featured them in a live broadcast. All the station’s phones lit up, creating an instant fan base that’s kept growing.

The annual concerts, closing the Spicewood Arts Society’s season, commemorate Tony Campise, a beloved Austin woodwind musician who met an untimely death in 2010.

Spicewood Arts SocietyBeto and the Fairlanes Return to Spicewood Stage

The concert begins at 7 p.m. at the Spicewood Vineyards Event Center, 1419 Co. Rd. 409, Spicewood. Complimentary water, coffee and snacks will be served at intermission and wine is available for purchase. Attendees are asked not to bring alcohol onto the Vineyard grounds.
