December 6th visiting family in Korea, China & Japan. Fr.
Don Czelnusniak, who covered for us in May, will be here
the weekends that I am away.
Reminder of Mass Location Changing

Volunteers Needed for Ministries
The Gospel the past few weeks has been an awakening in that
God is calling us to listen & to act on his message of giving more
of ourselves to the Lord & to others. In light of this message,
there are several opportunities for you to become involved in the
ministries of our parishes. These include several options: behind
the scenes, a more visible role as Lector or Extraordinary Minis-
ter of Holy Communion as well as sitting quietly with the Lord at
Adoration. If you would like to learn more about any of our parish
ministries or have been thinking of signing up, we are encourag-
ing you to drop your name & phone number in the collection bas-
ket, leave it in the sacristy or call either rectory & someone will
contact you to talk more about becoming an active member of
our church.
Attention Lectors
Please be sure to pick up your new Lector workbooks in
the Sacristy & check off your name.

Saint Charles Borromeo made his own the words of Christ:
“...I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and
you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, na-
ked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison
and you visited me” (Matthew 25:35-36)
Borromeo saw Christ in his neighbor, and knew that char-
ity done for the least of his flock was charity done for
Christ.
Saint Charles Borromeo is the Patron Saint of: Catechists,
Catechumens and Seminarians -franciscanmedia.org
“Be sure that you first preach by the way you live .
If you do not, people will notice that you say one
thing, but live otherwise, and your words will bring
only cynical laughter and a derisive shake of the
head.” - St. Charles Borromeo

November is dedicated to the holy souls in purgatory.
Unable to pray for themselves; they depend on our
prayers and sacrifices.
All who die in God’s grace and friendship, but still im-
perfectly purified, are indeed assured of their eternal
salvation; but after death they undergo purification, so
as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of
heaven. Catechism 1030
__________________________________________________________________
Purgatory is considered a place or a condition of existence
where souls undergo a purification. It is God’s gift of love
and mercy to help souls prepare for heaven
The greatest suffering of the soul is the delay of the beatific
vision or the postponement of seeing God face to face,
which is heaven. This burning expectation brings about a
great purification.
We are each part of an unbroken chain of God’s love. In
union with the Blessed Mother and the communion of
saints, God invites us to help the holy souls.
When we are in a state of grace, our merciful Father will
accept our offerings of:
1. Prayer:
♦ Masses, the Rosary, Stations of the Cross, Eucharistic
Adoration and the Divine Mercy Chaplet.
♦ Prayers of indulgence such as: Act of Contrition, Ange-
lus, Guardian Angel Prayer, Hail Holy Queen, Morning
Offering,
2. Suffering:
♦ When faced with inevitable suffering, no matter how
small, embrace it and ‘Offer it Up’ for the Holy Souls
♦ Our suffering has redemptive value for the salvation of
souls when we unite it to the suffering of Christ on the
Cross.
Redemptive suffering gives meaning to our physi-
cal or emotional pain because it can be used for
our benefit or the benefit of others, living or dead.
3. Sacrifice:
♦ Almsgiving - Offer your time, talent and treasure from
the heart with love and humility.
♦ Fasting - Fasting from food is always a consideration
but there are other ways. You can fast from anything
that attaches you to the world: bitterness, self-concern,
personal anxiety, anger, gossip, discontent and dis-
couragement.
4. Acts of Kindness:
Perform Corporal & Spiritual Acts of Mercy for the
holy souls. One of the best ways of doing penance
is to multiply your works of charity and mercy to-
ward the dead, which wipes away your own debt
to God’s Justice.
