Wednesday Stations of the Cross will be led by Diana Padilla.Come and participate as we walk the path Jesus walked and prayed.
Things to do during LentWednesdays at 7:30 PM: Stations of the Cross (please see above).
Thursdays at 7:30 PM: Deacons Doug and John lead us in evening prayers!
We are trying something new and we hope you will enjoy it. No need to worry, the Deacons will walk you through it and keep it very simple. It’s worth a try.
Fridays at 7:30 PM: Mass, no homily
8:00 PM: Stations of the Cross. Everyone is welcome and we also make it youth friendly. Please join us!

Parish Ministry Spotlight Youth Ministry
At Holy Spirit, we have two youth groups, The God Squad (youth in the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades) & GS2 (7th & 8th graders).
The God Squad is a pro-active group that helps other ministries in our Parish. They help out at Masses, Religious Education, giving out ashes, the Oldies Concert, outdoor Stations of The Cross, and visiting the sick and home bound of our parish. They believe in faith through service and discipleship. At meetings, we have activities that help the youth learn to communicate with God, and with one another, in the hope that they will have a better understanding of their roles as future leaders in our Church.

Eucharistic Ministers Needed for NYU Winthrop HospitalStaff and volunteer eucharistic ministers in the Department of Spiritual Care atNYU Winthrop offer communion to Roman Catholic patients seven days a week.
Currently committed people are needed to join the team and serve on any of the following days: Wednesdays, Thursdays or Sundays.
To become a Eucharistic minister, a person must meet the following criteria:
• be men or women, lay people, or those in consecrated life, who are in good standing in their local parish;
• be willing to volunteer 1-2 hours for one day;• be able to deal with the sick and the aged in a compassionate and understanding manner;• have already completed the Diocese training for Eucharistic Ministry;• commit to the initial orientation and training and health clearance, and remain in
compliance with annual updates as required by NYS state law and the Volunteer Services Office of NYU Winthrop;
• adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by the Department of Spiritual Care.

Special Announcements
Rosary Altar SocietyThe Rosary Altar Society will hold its general meeting on Monday, March 2nd.
The Rosary will be recited in church at 7 PM, followed by our meeting in Martin Hall.We are pleased to have Monsignor Dreasen as a speaker at our meeting.
All ladies of the parish are invited to attend.Refreshments, including Irish soda bread will be served.
Holy Spirit Church is having its “10th Annual Oldies Concert” on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 6 PM!
A cold buffet dinner is included! The cost of the ticket is $40.00.If the ticket is purchased at the door, the cost will be $45.00 per ticket.
Tickets on sale after all the Masses: March 7 & 8 and March 14 & 15.
Tickets are available now if anyone would like to purchase their tickets.Last year’s concert was sold out!

The Church of the Holy Spirit will be hosting a Baby Bottle Fundraiser to benefit The Life Center.
The Life Center is a pregnancy help center that provides counseling to women and men who areexperiencing an unplanned pregnancy. Did you know that they provide?
• Free pregnancy test kits• Free sonogram referrals• Maternity housing with eligibility requirement referrals• Medical care referrals• Material aid including car seats, cribs, cloths, diapers and many other needed baby items
• Male advocates available to speak with fathers
We are asking that you pick up a baby bottle and fill it with your coins.Please return the bottles on March 28th and 29th
Let us pray with our whole heart for the lives of our pre-born children.

FOCUS: The season of Lent calls us to humility, to an honest understanding of who we are.
Humility is not false modesty, but the awareness of who we are: Sons and daughters of God, created by God. Yet we, like Adam and Eve, are often tempted to think of ourselves as more than creatures, as in control of the world. May God give us the grace to allow him to be God.
LITURGY OF THE WORDIn the first reading, the woman and her husband eat fruit from the tree of life, and realize they are naked. In the Letter to the Romans, Paul reassures us that God’s grace surpasses any of our sins. In the Gospel, the devil tempts Jesus while he is in the desert, but Jesus says to him, Get away, Satan! and the devil leaves him.
