OUR PARISH MISSION STATEMENT Holy Spirit is a Eucharistic Community, formed by and in the Holy Spirit, to enable
our Community to come closer to God and to each other. MASS Saturday: 5:00pm Sunday: 8:00am, 10:00am, 12:00noon Weekdays (Monday - Saturday): 9:00am PENANCE Saturday: 4:00 - And by Appointment BAPTISM Baptisms are scheduled for 1:30pm on specific Sundays. Catechesis for parents is required. Please call the Parish Office to register for Catechesis. Baptisms may only be scheduled after attending Catechesis. MARRIAGE You must meet with a priest at least one year beforehand to schedule the date and time of your wedding. The wedding date is finalized only by meeting with the priest. SACRAMENT OF THE SICK Those who are sick, homebound, or in the hospital are a vital part of our Parish family. Please call the Parish Office to arrange for the reception of the Eucharist and Anointing of the Sick.

From the desk of Fr. John Thanks to all for a very enjoyable and successful “Pasta with the Pastor” last Friday evening. The volunteers did a superb job of preparing and serving the meal, which was quite good.. Thanks also to all who supported our effort to raise needed funds for the Sisters who minister to the Syrian Refugees. We will be able to send them about $3000. God Bless them and all of you for your generosity.

Catechists do not need a degree in education, religion or theology. They do need patience, love and a willingness to help our children fall in love with Jesus. Call Elizabeth Kogler in the Religious Ed Office to learn more about the amazing experience you can have by being a catechist.
Vacation Bible School
Get your kids ready to venture onto an uncharted island where they’ll be rescued by Jesus! Anchor kids in the truth that Jesus carries them through every storm in life. Mark your calendars for this summer’s Vacation Bible School August 27 through 31. The fun will begin at 10 a.m. and keep going until 1 p.m. Please call the Religious Ed Office to register or volunteer to help.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
The program was designed some years ago by the church for adults who seek to become Catholic and for those already Catholic who need to complete the Sacraments of Holy Communion and Confirmation. We have several catechists who teach in the program. Classes meet twice monthly on Sunday afternoons at 1:30pm in the Parish Activity Center. Classes will begin in the fall. If you or some family member or friend you know would like to receive the Sacraments, please call the Parish Office to register for the classes. Candidates will receive their Sacraments at the Easter Vigil Mass on Holy Saturday.

Religious Education Updates Planning for the upcoming year of Religious Education is in full swing. Registration for the 2018-19 year has been steady; classes are starting to fill up. Children cannot be placed in a class without the registration form (available on parish website: www.holyspirit-cortlandtmanor.org) or in the office. In addition to payment by check or cash, we are now accepting electronic payments. You can sign up for this through our parish website by clicking on the “WeShare” link (electronic giving).
