GOSPEL: John 14:23-29 or 17:20-26 In the gospel today, Jesus continues to speak about love. Those who live will experience God's love in their lives and the gift of peace that only Christ can give. Jesus also promises to send the Paraclete, or the Comforter, to his disciples. The Paraclete is the Holy Spirit, who will guide the Church for all time. Jesus' followers will not be left on their own. 1.) If Jesus' gift to us is peace, why do we so often lack peace in our hearts, in our homes, and in our world? 2.) What does loving Jesus and being true to his word have to do with the gift of peace that he promises? 3.) We believe that God is Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The sign of the cross that we pray so often affirms our faith. One day this week, be aware of yourself as a child of God the Father. How does this affect you, your attitudes, your prayers? Another day, be aware of the gift of Jesus to us. How does this affect you, your attitudes, your prayers? Another day, be aware of the Comforter, God the Holy Spirit, that Jesus promised. How does this awareness of the Spirit affect you, your attitudes, your prayers?
EVANGELIO: JUAN 14:23-29 or 17:20-26 En el evangelio de hoy, Jesús continúa hablando sobre el amor. Los que vivan experimentarán el amor de Dios en sus vidas y el don de la paz que sólo Cristo puede dar. Jesús tam-bién promete enviar al Paráclito, o Consolador, a sus discípu-los. El Paráclito es el Espíritu Santo quien guiará a la Iglesia todo el tiempo. Los seguidores de Jesús no son dejados solos. 1.) Si el regalo de Jesús es paz, ¿por qué, con frecuencia, no tenemos paz en nuestros corazones, hogar y el mundo? 2.) ¿Qué tiene que ver con el prometido don de la paz, el amar a Jesús y ser fiel a su palabra? 3.) Creemos en la Trinidad: Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo. La señal de la cruz, que con frecuencia rezamos, afirma nuestra fe. Un día de esta semana, toma conciencia de hijo de Dios, Pa-dre. ¿Cómo afecta eso tus actitudes, oraciones? Otro día toma conciencia del regalo de Jesús a nosotros. ¿Cómo afecta tus actitudes y oraciones? Otro día toma conciencia del Consola-dor, Dios Espíritu Santo, prometido por Jesús. ¿Cómo afecta tus actitudes y oraciones?

Coming Up Soon:
Flores de Mayo: You are all invited to celebrate Flores de Mayo, Celebrating Mary in May. Everyday in May
we will pray the rosary and offer flowers to our Blessed Mother Mary. During weekdays (Monday-Friday) we will begin at 6:00pm in the church. On the weekends (Saturday & Sunday) we will begin after the 5:30pm Mass. We encourage everyone to come pray and offer flowers!
Life & Dignity Sunday: The bishops of California have established the Catholic Legislative Network (CLN) to develop a strong, clear, moral voice for life and justice in our state during a very difficult time. Next weekend during Life & Dignity Sunday, all parishioners will have an opportunity to register for the Network. You will find a one-page description of the newly created advocacy network in this week’s bulletin. Please read it, pray about it (and for it), and come prepared next week to register for this important new effort.
Pentecost Sunday: All are invited to wear red on Pentecost, which will be on Sunday May 23rd, as an expression of our Catholic identity.
Altar Servers: There will be training for boys and girls in the 5th grade and up who are interested in becoming altar servers. Please call the Parish Office and leave your name and phone number, (415) 333-7630.
Mass Intentions 2011: The Mass Intention Calendar for 2011 will open on Tuesday, June 1st at 8:30am. Only one intention will be taken per Mass except for Community Masses, which are held every Monday at 8:00am. In order to accommodate all our parishioner’s re-quests, we are limiting requests to 10 per person. Forms are available at the Parish Office.
Please note that ALL requests must be made in person.

For Your Information: Children’s Liturgy:
The Liturgy of the Word for Children will not be celebrated on Memorial Day week-end—Sunday, May 30th. The Liturgy for Children will conclude for summer recess on Sunday, June 6th and start up again on Sunday, August 29th, 2010.
School of the Epiphany:
There is still time! Epiphany is still accept-ing applications for grades kinder thru 7th. If you or anyone you know is interested, please contact the School Office at (415) 337-4030 to have a package mailed to your home or to have any questions an-swered.
Group Leaders: We want to remind all Parish Group lead-ers and members who use the Cafeteria and/or O’Keefe Hall that there are guide-lines for the use of these spaces. 1. Only groups who reserve the hall can
use it. 2. Keys should not be passed to other
groups. They should be returned to the Parish Office and signed out properly.
3. Physical set-up and after care are the responsibilities of the group. Cleaning includes:
a.) clean the bathrooms b.) clean the kitchen c.) garbage should be taken out d.) turn off all lights e.) make sure doors are locked. These are only some of the main points, the rest can be found in the cafeteria’s kitchen and in O’Keefe. We ask each group to please help us maintain the Cafe-teria and O’Keefe. If there are any prob-lems, please report them to the Parish Of-fice immediately. Thank you for your cooperation!

Próximos Eventos: Flores de Mayo:
Todos están invitados a la celebración de Flores de Mayo, honrando a la Santísima Virgen María en Mayo. Durante los días de semana (lunes a viernes) comenzare-mos a las 6:00pm, en la Iglesia. En el fin de semana sábado y domingo comenzare-mos después de la misa de las 5:30pm. Venga a rezar el Santo Rosario con noso-tros y ofrecerle flores a la Virgen. Domingo de la Vida y la Dignidad:
Los obispos de California han establecido la Red Legislativa Católica (RLC) para desarrollar una voz moral firme y clara a favor de la vida y la justicia en nuestro estado, durante estos tiempos tan difíciles que vivimos. Todos los feligreses tendrán la oportunidad de registrarse para la Red el próximo fin de semana durante el Domin-go de la Vida y la Dignidad. En el boletín de esta semana encontrara una hoja descri-biendo a la red de propugnación reciente-mente creada. Favor de leerla, medite en esta (y ore por ella), y venga preparado(a) la próxima semana para que se registre en esta nueva e importante tentativa.
Domingo de Pentecostés: Invitamos a todos para que usen rojo el domingo 23 de Mayo como una expresión de nuestra identidad Católica.
Entrenamiento para Acólitos: Si su hijo/a quiere servir como acólito y está por lo menos en el 5to grado; llame a la oficina parroquial al (415)333-7630 y deje su nombre y número de teléfono. Pronto tendremos un entrenamiento para niños y niñas interesadas.
Intenciones para las Misas: El calendario de las intenciones de las mi-sas para el año 2011, estarán abiertas el martes 1 de Junio a las 8:30am. Solamente se tomara una intención por misa a excep-ción de las misas comunitarias, que se di-cen todos lunes a las 8:00am. Para acomo-dar todas las peticiones de nuestros feligre-ses, estamos limitando las intenciones a 10 por persona. Las formas están disponibles en la Oficina Parroquial. Por favor tome nota que TODAS las solicitudes tienen que ser en persona.

Congreso Carismático Hispano: El Congreso Carismático Católico se lle-vará a cabo el 15 y 16 de mayo de 8:00am a 6:00pm en el Cañada College, 4200 Farm Hill Blvd. en Redwood City, CA. El fin de semana del domingo 30 de mayo no habrá Liturgia de la Palabra para Niños. El siguiente domingo, 6 de junio será la última fecha en que los niños salgan para escuchar la Palabra antes de las vacaciones de verano. Se reanudarán el domingo 29 de agosto.

Atención Lí deres de Grupos: Les queremos recordar a los líderes y miembros de los diferentes grupos que utilizan el Salón O`Keefe y la Cafetería acerca de algunos de los reglamentos: Solo puede usar el salón el grupo que lo haya reservado. No se deben pasar las llaves de un grupo al otro. Las llaves siempre deben ser devueltas a la oficina para que el si-guiente grupo pueda pedirlas y firmar por ellas apropiadamente. Cada grupo es res-ponsable de acomodar los salones y dejar-los en orden. Deben de:
a.) limpiar los baños, b.) limpiar la cocina,
c.) remover toda la basura d.) apagar todas las luces
e.) asegurarse de que todas las puertas estén cerradas.
Estas son solo algunos de los reglamentos. Puede encontrar la lista completa en la coci-na de la cafetería o en el Salón O´Keefe. También les pedimos que nos ayuden a man-tener y cuidar ambos salones. Por favor re-porten en la oficina parroquial cualquier problema que tengan.
