Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You
are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there
and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me
to be separated from You.

Fifth Sunday of Lent
March 29, 2020 FOCUS: Those who believe in Jesus, and walk in his ways, will never die.
Our worldly desires bind us up in burial cloths fashioned from our
sins that block the will of God from our sight. By putting aside selfish ways and trusting in God’s love and mercy, we allow Christ
to call us forth from death so that we might lead a resurrected life in the Spirit.
LITURGY OF THE WORD: In the first reading, God promises life and liberty to the Israelites. In the second reading, Saint Paul
reminds the Romans that they must strive to overcome their sinful
natures so as to live in union with Christ. In the Gospel, Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead and makes the bold proclamation that
those who believe in him will never die.
REFLECTION: Throughout the world our Church has been seri-
ously damaged by the clerical sexual abuse scandals. At this Eu-charist we implore our Creator God to restore our dead and
wounded parts to new life; to breathe the Spirit into us, as God promises to do today through the prophet Ezekiel.
So we ask ourselves:
Have I prayed for the healing of the victims of sexual abuse in
the Church?
Have I intensified my prayers this Lent for the healing of the
Church from this scandal?

Message from Fr. Al
Dear Parishioners and Friends,
During this time of the Coronavirus, many of us
may feel a bit confused and overwhelmed, espe-
cially by all the news media. Kindly remember
that we have a loving God who understands the
intimacy of our lives. Trusting in God in a
prayerful manner will help us to do our best and
to overcome the current difficulties.
Here are some personal recommendations:
Continue praying to the Lord with your family
Avoid unnecessary meetings with people. Rather, prom-
ise to remember them in your prayers.
Enjoy meal time with your family.
Keep in mind that the current difficulties will end and we
will all be back to Church in the near future.
Your generous church donations via E-Giving, mailing
or delivering them to the rectory mailbox is greatly ap-
preciated.
You are in our prayers. God bless all of you.

Before each station say: We adore Thee, O Christ, and we bless Thee. Because by Thy holy Cross, Thou has redeemed the world. After each station say: Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be To the Father Lord Jesus crucified. Have mercy on us. 1. Jesus Is Condemned to Death We may have been condemned by others for no fault of ours. We may have been hurt. We may be unwanted and lonely in this world. We may be a burden for others. Let us give all those painful moments over to the Lord. 2. Jesus Carries His Cross Let us remember the times when he had to carry our cross in the form of sin, sickness, pain, worry, despair, loneliness, guilt, loss of loved ones, financial problems and so on. As Jesus bore the cross with patience, let us be patient with our cross and look forward towards greater glory. 3. Jesus Falls the First Time Let us remember the first time when we gave into tempta-tion and sinned. We fell into sin and moved away from God. Let us repent and ask Jesus for his forgiveness. 4. Jesus Meets His Blessed Mother Let us remember our Heavenly Mother who gave birth to Jesus Christ and raised him on this earth. Let us believe in our Heavenly Mother’s powerful intercession. Mother Mary can intercede for us and obtain all graces we need in our lives. Let Mother Mary be our comfort and strength during this earthly journey. 5. Simon of Cyrene Helps Jesus Carry His Cross When we were burdened with our cross, when the cross was too heavy for us to carry, Jesus would have sent someone into our lives to help us carry the cross. It may have been your spouse, your parents, your children, your friends or even a stranger. Jesus would never abandon us. Let us thank Jesus for all those people who gave us hope. 6. Veronica Wipes the Face of Jesus Let us remember our family members and friends who were there with us, to comfort us during the most painful times of our life. Let us pray for them, for all the times they comforted us and brought back faith to our lives. 7. Jesus Falls the Second Time We often feel sorry and repent for our sins. We again fall into temptation and then forget everything soon. We go back to our sinful lives, falling into even more greater sins. Let us surrender our hearts to the Lord and be truly re-pentant. Let us strive not to keep committing the same sins over and over.
8. Jesus Meets the Women of Jerusalem Let us be compassionate and merciful to the people around us. Let us open our eyes to the people suffering in this world. As Jesus comforted the women of Jerusalem, let us have mercy on those in distress. Let our hearts reach out to the sinners and the people who yet don’t know Jesus. 9. Jesus Falls the Third Time Let this be the last time we sin. Let us make our hearts strong and pray to Jesus for strength to fight the tempta-tions of Satan. Let us become closer to God during this Lenten Season. 10. Jesus Is Stripped of His Clothes Surrender all those moments in your life which you wish had never happened and want to forget forever. It may have been a moment of great embarrassment or great shame. It may be a moment when somebody insulted you or hurt you deeply. When Jesus was stripped of his clothes, he was ashamed and hurt, but he bore everything for our sins. Let us invite Jesus to heal our wounds. 11. Jesus Is Nailed to the Cross Let us give up our sinful life. Let all our sins be nailed to the cross so that we can live a new life in Jesus. As Jesus endured unbearable pain while being nailed to the cross, let us bear our sorrows with patience and hold onto life. 12. Jesus Dies on the Cross Let the sinful man in us die on the Cross along with Jesus. Let us resolve to never sin again and avoid all temptation. 13. Jesus Is Taken Down From the Cross Jesus, you died for our sins and purchased for us the re-ward of eternal life. Let us always keep that in our minds and live this life with hope. 14. Jesus Is Laid in the Tomb Let us look forward to the Eternal Life that Jesus has of-fered us by giving his own life as ransom. Let us pray to Jesus for the grace of a happy death.
Saint Francis's Prayer Before the Crucifix Most High, glorious God enlighten the darkness of my heart and give me true faith, certain hope, and perfect charity, sense and knowledge, Lord, that I may carry out Your holy and true command. Amen.
Stations of the Cross
We can meditate on these stations during our free time, wherever we are. These stations will help us to remember Jesus and his passion during the Lenten Season. Let us surrender our lives to Jesus.

Oración a Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe
Virgen Santísima de Guadalupe, Reina de los Ángeles y Madre de las Américas. Acudimos a ti hoy como tus amados hijos. Te

Vida "! Así el que cree, vivirá! Cristo es Nuestra Resurrección
y nuestra Vida !
