•BAPTISMS / BAUTIZOS/ BATTESIMO Baptism are celebrated once a month on a Sunday after the 12:30 Mass in Spanish and 2:00pm in English. The dates for the Baptism of children and for the Pre-Baptismal instruction of parents should be arranged in the rectory ONE MONTH IN ADVANCE. In addition to English, and Spanish this Sacrament may also be in Italian.
•WEDDINGS/ MATRIMONIO Pre–marital instruction is a requirement for all engaged couples. Consequently, arrangements for weddings should be made SIX MONTHS in advance.
SIXTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME JULY 19, 2015 DÉCIMOSEXTO DOMINGO EN TIEMPO ORDINARIO 19 DE JULIO, 2015 SEDICESIMA DOMENICA DEL TEMPO ORDINARIO 19 DI LUGLIO , 2015
“I myself will gather the remnant of my flock from all the lands to which I have driven them and bring them back to their meadow; there they will increase and multiply. I will appoint shepherds for them who will shepherd them so that they need no longer fear and
tremble; and none shall be missing, says the Lord.’… ‘when He disembarked and saw the vast crowd His heart was moved with pity for them, for they were like sheep without a shepherd…”. One of the oldest biblical images is that of a shepherd. From King David to the gospel of John and Jesus stating He is the Good Shepherd. Peter was told by the Risen Christ ‘feed my sheep.’ With the same concern reflected in the gospel today, may I recall priests, bishops or popes in our life and lifetime who truly filled that role for me. Was it my parish priest who made Christ present in celebrating the sacraments of baptism, gave me the Eucharist or taught me catechism? Was it the bishop who laid hands on me, calling for the Holy Spirit to strengthen me? Was it the bishop of Rome, St. John 23rd or St. John Paul II of our own lifetime who inspired and led us into the third millennium? Is it Pope Francis, humbly bringing the joy of the gospel to a world mired in war, hate, poverty and indifference? As I ponder I pray for the names and faces who have come to mind and shepherded me, and pray that others will respond to the Shepherd’s call today to ‘feed His sheep.’
“Yo mismo reuniré el resto de mis ovejas, de todos los países adonde las había expulsado, y las haré volver a sus praderas, donde serán fecundas y se multiplicarán. Yo suscitaré para ellas pastores que las apacentarán; y ya no temerán ni se espantarán, y no se echará de menos a ninguna –oráculo del Señor–.’… ‘Al desembarcar, Jesús vio una gran muchedumbre y se compadeció de ella, porque eran como ovejas sin pastor…” Una de las más antiguas imágenes bíblicas es la del pastor. Desde el Rey David al evangelio de San Juan donde Jesús indica que El es el Buen Pastor. El Cristo Resucitado le indicó a Pedro ‘apacienta mis ovejas’. Con la misma preocupación reflejada en el evangelio hoy, puedo recordar sacerdotes, obispos o papas de nuestros días quienes realmente han llenado el papel para mí. ¿Fue el sacerdote de mi parroquia quien hizo a Cristo presente al celebrar los sacramentos del bautismo, me dio la Eucaristía o me enseñó el catecismo? ¿Fue el Obispo quien impuso sus manos sobre mí, llamando al Espíritu Santo a fortalecerme? ¿Fue el Obispo de Roma, San Juan XXIII o San Juan Pablo II en nuestros tiempos quienes nos inspiraron y guiaron al tercer milenio? Es el Papa Francisco quien humildemente trae la alegría del evangelio a un mundo marcado por la guerra, odio, pobreza e indiferencia. Reflexiono sobre los nombres y caras de aquellos que han venido a mi mente y me han guiado, y oro por que otros respondan al llamado del Pastor a ‘apacentar Sus ovejas.’
Come mostra la prima lettura, e il Vangelo stesso, oggi al centro della parola che la liturgia ci porta c’è il fatto che Dio ha concretizzato le sue promesse in Gesù di Nazaret: attraverso il suo Salvatore egli veglia sul suo popolo. Il Vangelo descrive la “piccola” gente di Galilea che si affolla al seguito di Gesù come una comunità di uomini sfiniti di cui nessuno si occupa.
Essi hanno sentito che Gesù si preoccupa sinceramente di loro, e che ha il potere di venire loro veramente in aiuto. È ciò che fa, portando l’indispensabile salvezza a tutti quelli che si rivolgono a lui fiduciosi, nella loro disgrazia sia fisica che sociale o spirituale. La Chiesa non cerca oggi di distrarci con delle belle storie che parlano dei tempi passati. Attira la nostra attenzione sul fatto che Gesù Cristo risuscitato continua ad agire come il Salvatore di Dio. Egli può e vuole aiutarci nella nostra disgrazia. Compatisce le nostre preoccupazioni. Nella nostra miseria possiamo rivolgerci a lui. Egli ci consolerà, ci darà la forza, ci esaudirà. È lui che ci fa trovare le vie per uscire dalla disgrazia, che ci mette accanto delle persone che ci aiutino. E soprattutto, Gesù Cristo conosce l’ultima e la peggiore delle nostre miserie: la nostra ricerca di una salvezza duratura e felice, che sia per noi o per tutti quelli che amiamo, dei quali ci preoccupiamo, e che abitano con noi questo mondo.

BAPTISM INFORMATION The Sacrament of Baptism is Celebrated
Once a month on Sunday One Sunday in Spanish after the
12:30pm Mass and One Sunday in English at 2PM.
THE NEXT AVAILABLE DATES ARE: September 20th — English Baptisms September 27th — Spanish Baptisms
Please come to the office rectory for requirements and registration at least one month in advance.
In order to fulfill the requirements in time.
Most Holy Trinity Church
Sunday, July 26th, 2015 will be the last Sunday mass at 11am in Most Holy Trinity.
There will be no 10am or 12 noon masses on that day. Friday, July 31st, 2015 will be the last daily mass at Most Holy Trinity. There will not be an
8am or 12 noon mass.
The daily 12noon mass begins at the merged parish of
St. Vito - Most Holy Trinity on Monday, August 3rd
this mass will be celebrated in the church.
PASTORAL VISIT OF HIS HOLINESS, POPE FRANCIS
The Holy Father will arrive in NY on Thursday evening,
September 24th, and will depart early Saturday morning, September 26th. The Mass will be
celebrated on Friday, September 25th at 6:30pm at Madison Square Garden. Regarding tickets to the
Mass, please keep in mind that the visit is brief. Madison Square Garden holds a limited number of
people. Parishes will receive tickets based on a formula using Mass attendance to ensure that all parishes are treated equally. There will, however, be a minimum number of tickets for every parish
so that smaller parishes are not at a disadvantage. Again, you can expect more information
as we move into August.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION REGISTRATION 2015–2016
Registration for September 2015 will be held from July through August
Monday - Friday 10am until 6pm and Saturday from 10am to 1pm at the Parish Rectory.
These are the requirements and Fees Every Child must re-registered each year. Parents must come in person.
Birth & Baptism Certificate of Students
Tuition fees are only applied to siblings not relatives.
NEW DAILY MASS
With the upcoming merging of the parishes of
St. Vito and Most Holy Trinity, plans are being made to offer a 12 noon daily Mass
Monday thru Friday here at St. Vito, beginning on Monday August 3rd in the Church.
Intentions are now being accepted for these masses.
NEW PARISHIONERS We welcome new parishioners to St. Vito’s soon to be merged with
the Church of the Most Holy Trinity. For those who wish to register, there are forms available on the tables of the
back of the church. It is asked that you complete and return forms to the Parish office or
you may place them in the collection basket.

CAMPAÑA ANUAL DEL CARDENAL
Hasta el día de hoy nuestra parroquia ha recibido $32,479 en promesas/regalos para la
Campaña del Cardenal, por parte de 135 familias.
Todavía están a tiempo para hacer su regalo. Muchas gracias por su amable apoyo.
INFORMACION DE BAUTIZOS
El Sacramento de Bautizo solo se celebrara una vez al mes los domingos. Los Bautizos en Español se llevan acabo
después de la misa de 12:30pm y los bautizos en Ingles a las 2:00pm.
LAS PROXIMAS FECHAS SON:
Septiembre 20 - Bautizos en Ingles Septiembre 27 - Bautizos en Español
Durante el verano no se celebraran bautizos.
Todas las familias deben estas oficialmente registradas en la parroquia para que el bautizo se lleve acabo en
Saint Vito. Por favor acérquese a la rectoría de la Parroquia antes de planear el bautismo.

NUEVO HORARIO DE MISAS DIARIAS Con la unión de las Iglesias San Vito Y
Holy Trinity, se está planeando ofrecer una misa diaria en ingles a las 12 del medio día de lunes
a viernes aquí en San Vito. Este horario de misas comenzara a partir del Lunes 3 de Agosto en la
Iglesia y ya se están recibiendo intenciones.
VISTA PASTORAL DE SU EMINENCIA, EL PAPA FRANCISCO
El Santo padre llegara a Nueva York el Jueves por la noche del 24 de
Septiembre, y se ira el Sábado por la Mañana del 26 de Septiembre. Con respecto a las entradas
para la Misa que celebrara el 25 de Septiembre a las 6:30pm en Madison Square Garden.
Las parroquias recibirán entradas basadas en la asistencia de misa para asegurarnos que todas las
parroquias sean tratadas con igualdad. Sin embargo la cantidad de entradas van a ser muy
limitada por parroquia para que las parroquias pequeñas no estén en desventaja.
