2007 FLORIDA FIRE PREVENTION CODE
CITY OF TAMPA MUNICIPAL CODE
1. COMPLY WITH APPLICABLE LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL CODES AND REGULATIONSPERTAINING TO SAFETY OF PERSONS, PROPERTY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION.
2. PROVIDE AND MAINTAIN BARRICADES, LIGHTING, AND GUARDRAILS AS REQUIRED BYAPPLICABLE CODES AND REGULATIONS TO PROTECTOCCUPANTS OF BUILDING AND WORKERS.
3. ERECT AND MAINTAIN DUSTPROOF PARTITIONS AS REQUIRED TO PREVENT SPREAD OF DUST,FUMES, AND SMOKE, ETC. TO OTHER PARTS OF THE BUIDLING. ON COMPLETION, REMOVEPARTITIONS AND REPAIR DAMAGED SURFACES TO MATCH ADJACENT SURFACES.
4. IF DEMOLITION IS PERFORMED IN EXCESS OF THAT REQUIRED, RESTORE EFFECTED AREAS ATNO COST TO THE OWNER.
5. REMOVE FROM SITE DAILY AND LEGALLY DISPOSE OF REFUSE, DEBRIS, RUBBISH, AND OTHERMATERIALS RESULTING FROM DEMOLITION OPERATIONS IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL LOCAL,STATE AND FEDERAL LAWS.
6. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PROTECTING THE ADJACENT BUILDINGS, STREET,SIDEWALK, UTILITIES, TREES, ETC...FROM DAMAGE OR HARM AS PART OF THIS SCOPE OFWORK, AS OUTLINED IN THESE DOCUMENTS AND PROJECT MANUAL, AS WELL AS COMPLYINGWITH APPLICABLE LOCAL, STATE, AND FEDERAL CODES AND REGULATIONS.
7. CLEAN ALL DEBRIS FROM FLOORS, WALLS AND CEILING TO REMAIN AFTER MAJORCOMPONENTS ARE DEMOLISHED.
8. VACUUM WALLS, FLOORS, COLUMNS AND CEILING TO RID EACH FLOOR OF DEMOLITION DUST.
9. DEMOLISH ALL MISCELANEOUS WOOD FROM CEILING STRUCTURE (ITEMS TO REMAIN: WOODBEAMS, BEAM CONNECTIONS, FLOOR JOISTS, JOIST BRACING & FLOOR SUBSTRATE & WOODFLOOR) ALL OTHER WOOD ITEMS TO BE REMOVED.
10. IN THE EVENT OF ASBESTOS OR OTHER TOXIC SUBSTANCE EXPOSURE OR THE SUBSTANTIALRISK THEROF, CLIENT WILL HAVE THE DUTY TO INFORM ARCHITECT OFSUCH RISKS KNOWN ORREASONABLY KNOWABLE TO CLIENT. IF ASBESTOS OR ANY OTHER TOXIC SUBSTANCE, OR RISKSTO EXPOSURE THEROF IS DISCOVERED BY ARCHITECT DURING WORK ON THE PROJECT,ARCHITECT SHALL, IN ITS SOLE DISCRETION, HAVE THE RIGHT TO SUSPEND WORK ON THEPROJECT. CLIENT SHALL HAVE THE DUTY PROMPTLY TO RETAIN A QUALIFIED EXPERT SAFELY TORENDER OR SUPERVISE THE REMOVAL OF SUCH ASBESTOS OR OTHER TOXIC SUBSTANCES.CLIENT SHALL INDEMNIFY AND HOLD ARCHITECTS, ITS AFFILIATES AND SUB- CONTRACTORS,AND THEIR OFFICERS, AGENTS AND EMPLOYEES HARMLESS FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY ONPART OF OR DAMAGE TO SUCH ENTITIES OR PERSONS, INCLUDING THE COST OF LEGAL FEESAND EXPENSES, AS SUCH FEES AND EXPENSES ARE INCURRED, WHICH MAY RESULT FROMASBESTOS OR OTHER TOXIC SUBSTANCE EXPOSURE ON THE PROJECT.
11. DIVERT CONSTRUCTION WASTE FROM LANDFILL AND RECYCLE REMOVED MATERIALSTO THE GREATEST EXTENT POSSIBLE.
12. VERIFY STRUCTURAL GRID DIMENSIONS IN FIELD.
ARCHITECTURAL DEMOLITION NOTES:
1. ALL EXTERIOR WALLS, EXTERIOR DOORS, AND EXTERIOR WINDOWS ARE HISTORIC AND ARETO REMAIN.
2. ALL COLUMNS TO REMAIN.
3. ALL STAIRS, GUARDRAILS AND HANDRAILS TO REMAIN.
4. REMOVE ALL FLOOR FINISHES AND WALL BASE UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED
5. WHERE PARTITIONS ABUT MASONRY WALLS AND SUCH PARTITIONS ARE INDICATED TO BEREMOVED, CLEAN MASONRY OF ANY RESIDUE LEFT BY PARTITION INSTALLATION.
6. REMOVE ALL CEILING SYSTEMS UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
7. IF FIRE EXTINGUISHERS AND CABINETS ARE IN PARTITIONS INDICATED TO BE REMOVED,SALVAGE FIRE EXTINGUISHERS AND CABINETS.
HVAC DEMOLITION NOTES:
1. PRIOR TO REMOVAL OF WALLS, THE HVAC CONTRACTOR SHALL IDENTIFY ALL TEMPERATURECONTROL SENSORS AND ASSOCIATE WIRING, TO PREVENT THE REMOVAL OF THESE DEVICESAND ASSOCIATED WIRING.
2. WHERE DUCTWORK IS PASSING THROUGH WALLS BEING REMOVED, THE HVAC CONTRACTORSHALL VERIFY THAT THERE ARE NO DUCTWORK SUPPORTS BEING REMOVED, OR SHALLRE- SUPPORT THE DUCTWORK ACCORDINGLY.
FIRE PROTECTION DEMOLITION NOTES:
1. AFTER REMOVAL OF WALL(S), FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACTOR TO REVIEW SPRINKLER HEADCOVERAGES TO INSURE THAT THERE SHALL BE NO SHORT CIRCUITING OF HEADS DUE TO WA(S)REMOVAL. IF SHORT CIRCUITING OF SPRINKLER HEADS EXISTS, THEN ADJUST HEADSACCORDINGLY.
2. WHERE FIRE PROTECTION LINES ARE PASSING THROUGH WALLS BEING REMOVED, FIREPROTECTION CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY THAT THERE ARE NO PIPING SUPPORTS BEINGREMOVED OR SHALL RE-SUPPORT THE FIRE PROTECTIONS LINES ACCORDINGLY.
PLUMBING DEMOLITION NOTES:
1. AFTER REMOVAL OF WALL(S), THE PLUMBING CONTRACTOR SHALL RE-SUPPORT EXISTINGSANITARY AND VENT, DOMESTIC WATER, AND/OR DOMESTIC HOT WATER PIPING AS REQUIRED.
2. ALL PLUMBING FIXTURES, INCLUDING DRINKING FOUNTAINS, AND PLUMBING LINES TO REMAINUNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
3. IF ANY PLUMBING FIXTURES ARE IDENTIFIED TO BE REMOVED, THEN ALL ASSOCIATEDSANITARY WASTE, SANITARY VENT, DOMESTIC HOT AND COLD WATER PIPING SHALL BEREMOVED. PLUMBING LINES SHALL BE REMOVED BACK TO THE MAINS AND CAPPED.
4. WHERE PLUMBING LINES ARE PASSING THROUGH WALLS BEING REMOVED, PLUMBINGCONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY THAT THERE ARE NO PIPING SUPPORTS BEING REMOVED, OR SHALLRE-SUPPORT THE PLUMBING LINES ACCORDINGLY.
ELECTRICAL DEMOLITION NOTES:
1. PRIOR TO REMOVAL OF WALLS, THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL IDENTIFY ALLRECEPTACLES, LIGHTING FIXTURES, SWITCHES, LIFE SAFETY DEVICES AND ASSOCIATEDWIRING AND CONDUIT, TO PREVENT THE REMOVAL OF THESE DEVICES AND THEIR ASSOCIATEDWIRING AND CONDUIT.
2. REMOVE ALL LIGHT FIXTURES UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. LIGHT FIXTURES CONTAININGHAZARDOUS BALLASTS SHALL BE DISPOSED OF PER APPROPRIATE ENVIRONMENTALREQUIREMENTS.
3. WHERE ELECTRICAL DEVICES ARE IDENTIFIED TO BE REMOVED, THEN ALL ASSOCIATEDWIRING AND CONDUIT SHALL BE REMOVED. ELECTRICAL WIRING AND CONDUIT SHALL BEREMOVED BACK TO THE MAIN PANELS.
4. WHERE CONDUIT AND/OR CABLE TRAY IS PASSING THROUGH WALLS BEING REMOVED, THEELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY THAT THERE ARE NO CONDUITS OR CABLE TRAYSUPPORTS BEING REMOVED, OR SHALL RE-SUPPORT THE CONDUITS AND CABLE TRAYSACCORDINGLY.
5. IF A BRANCH DEVICE IS BEING REMOVED, THEN MAINTAIN THE EXISTING CIRCUITING TOMAINTAIN THE EXISTING DEVICES TO REMAIN.
TECHNOLOGY DEMOLITION NOTES:
1. PRIOR TO REMOVAL OF WALLS, THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR OR TECHNOLOGYCONTRACTOR SHALL IDENTIFY ALL VOICE, VIDEO OR DATA DEVICES AND ASSOCIATED WIRINGAND CONDUIT, TO PREVENT THE REMOVAL OF THESE DEVICES AND THEIR ASSOCIATED WIRINGAND CONDUIT.
2. IF ANY TECHNOLOGY DEVICES ARE IDENTIFIED TO BE REMOVED, THEN ALL ASSOCIATEDWIRING AND CONDUIT SHALL BE REMOVED. WIRING AND CONDUIT SHALL BE REMOVED BACK TOTHE MAIN DISTRIBUTION BOARDS.
