Wednesday to spend quiet time in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament.

Religious Formation Announcements

22nd Sunday of Ordinary Time, September 3, 2017 The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is Tuesday, September 8th.

Let’s celebrate and honor our Blessed Mother’s birthday through the celebration of daily

Eucharist and the recitation of the Rosary as we remember our special connection to this devo-

tion through our parish patron, St. Dominic.

Our Prayer for Labor Day: On this weekend, when we rest from our usual labors, loving

Father, we pray for all who shoulder the tasks of human labor—in the marketplace, in facto-

ries and offices, in the professions, and in family living. We thank you, Lord, for the gift and

opportunity of work; may our efforts always be pure of heart, for the good of others and the

glory of your name. We lift up to you all who long for just employment and those who work to

defend the rights and needs of workers everywhere. May those of us who are now retired al-

ways remember that we still make a valuable contribution to our Church and our world by our

prayers and deeds of charity. May our working and our resting all give praise to you, until the

day we share together in eternal rest with all our departed, in your Kingdom, as you live and

reign Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen

A Prayer to Begin a New School Year: Loving God, thank you for the joys that summer

brought to us. You have blessed us with time to spend with family and friends, rest and relaxa-

tion, and a break from school work. As we return to our studies, inspire us to take on a new

interest in new classes and new topics. Teach us to be your hands and feet where we are, to

love as you love us and to pray for those in need so that You are honored and glorified. Be

with us as we discover old friendships and start new ones. Amen.

Tuesday evening (Levels 7 & 8). We invite you to join our team as a Back-up or Substitute

Catechist, and Assistant in a classroom or Hall Monitor! TEAM TEACHING IS ENCOUR-

AGED!!!

Religious Formation sessions begin soon!! Are you registered?? ATTENTION ALL RELIGIOUS FORMATION FAMILIES: CLASSES WILL BE STARTING SOON!!!

WE NEED YOUR HELP!!! HOW? Our Registration and planning for the 2017 – 2018 Religious Formation

is in full swing. Planning and organizing classes takes time. We would like to have ALL children signed up

early to insure a smoother transition into the upcoming year AND satisfy first come, first served requests for

their placement in choice of day/time. If you are holding back waiting for your child’s fall schedule,

please be aware that we will work with you to make day/time adjustments as their schedule

becomes known. Registration information is available on the parish website

(www.stdoms.org), in the back of both the church and chapel and in our office during busi-

ness hours. Contact our office if you have financial concerns. We are here to assist you to
