Renewed vigor is surging through ministers and members alike after "theBES!" -:- as usual - Festival of Tabernacles yet! The personal, directapplication of the sermons this year - the inescapable impact that YOUare the one to whom the minister was speaking - has sparked new life forthe coming year.
Even though Mr. Herbert W. Arm ~
strong is in England, modern communication is keeping him in touchwith the Work of God around theworld - a Work on which the sunnever sets - a Work which is justbeginning!
The benefit of the austere year isbeginning to be felt; the college, theChurch, the whole Work is at anotherpoint of explosive accomplishment. The new college at Big Sandy, Texas,is going ahead full-swing; plans foran expan d e d Ambassador CollegePress here at Pasadena are nearingcompletion; new and bold plans forbroadcasting and publishing the Gospel in nation -wide advertising arebeing formulated.
More detail cannot be given now,but these far-reaching decisions thatMr. Armstrong and the other ministers will be making in the next fewmonths certainly need your prayersfor God's guidance,
Be sure your personal growth is onpar with the entire Work, and youwill always be PART OF IT!

were attending for the first time.Mrs. Joyce Rojas was one of thefirst to raise her hand.
She also raised her hand with thosewho have no local congregation toattend, for Mrs. Rojas is our onlymember in Costa Rica!
She came by plane this year to attend the Feast with her five-year oldson, William. She is also the motherof a 15 month old daughter, Nancy.
Joyce first began listening to theprogram sporadically as an American schoolgirl. She went on to attend the University of Miami whereshe met her husband. When theymarried, she went with him to hishomeland, Costa Rica.
Mrs. Rojas learned to speak Spanish like a native and began listeningregularly to the Spanish broadcast. She even monitored the program's fortwo years.
Baptizing teams found it difficultto include her in the tour, and manyunexpected circumstances made itnecessary to postpone their meetingher for yet another year. She wasfinally baptized in 1962 by Dr. Reaafter waiting for eight years.
Dr. Rea was very thankful she is sopetite - 5' 1" and only 88 pounds since the only place that could befound to baptize her was a hotel bathtub.
Mrs. Rojas stayed over one weekin Pasadena after the Feast as theguest of Duane Cooper and his wife,Hazel.
She returned to Costa Rica filledwith the spiritual meat she has longedfor years to hear.

Field Clubby Tom Whitson
The Boy's Field Club met October16. This had been previously set asSister Night. Each boy brought hissister, if he had one. Some of themore enthusiastic members broughttwo!
Plans were laid for the forth-
---right here---I think!coming outing. On November 24, theClub will go on a fishing trip to Malibu to fish from late afternoon untildark. December 22 will be a surprise outing. On January 26th, theboys have scheduled a snow outing, pending on the weather conditions.
Few of the boys own fishing equipment. We would therefore appreciateany donations OR loans of rods, reelsor any other fishing gear you mayhave.
Boys'Oroupby Joseph H. Johnson
I have learned many things, beingprivileged to attend the boy I s outings. This past year we 1ear ned manyskills that I had never had the chanceto learn before: Rope climbing, mapreading, compass and woodcraft.
So you can see if we, who are thereto help, can profit from these things, what an opportunity the boys have!
Next week - November 3 - completes our first year. Think aboutthis and make plans to be there.
If participation in the Boy'S Groupwas not profitable, the group wouldnever have been formed in the firstplace. Like any other part of theWork of God, starting small, theseclubs will also play an important partin rounding out the development andgrowth of our children.
Your p ray e r s and support areneeded!
What's NewIn No.2
by Jim InceInstruction, inspiration, and enter
tainment permeated the first twomeetings held by the Los Angeles #2(Tuesday) Spokesman Club after theFeast. With only 12 members present, the newly organized Club gotoff to a small start, and there wasonly one way to go•.•...... UP!Attendance was down partly due toillness, and partly due to membersarriving late from the Feast. Buta grab-bag session was organized, and though a bit informal, everyoneagreed it was helpful, and entertaining. Most members were presentat the second meeting. As usual, the moments of most vivid interestwere found in the speaking portion ofthe program. Here are some examples of what the absentees missed.
Mr. Clee Rothwell explained howthe club helped him prepare for, enjoy, and understand his first Feast.By using a check list, as suggestedby previous speakers, he remembered everything except neckties. Acrisis was averted when his youngson magnanimously offered the useof his bow tie. Yes, he took it. We'llskip the sub j e c t of tire chains. After all, who expected it to snow ?
Mr . Jim Gibson offered some goodtips on how to improve our drivinghabits. He left no doubt about thefact that "road hogs" are unclean, and can be a menace to health if wecome in contact with them. He emphasized the necessity of being alertat all times, and showed that gooddriving is work, especially if it's onthe freeway.
Mr. Joe Seab disclosed some interesting facts about "Nature's Laboratory, " showing how modern scienceis about 6000 years behind times.Bats have the best radar; hummingbirds are the best he 1i cop t e r s;beetles have the best speed calculators, and haw k s have the besttelescopic lenses.
Mr. Batterton gave an impromptuon "How to Make Full and CompletePreparations for a Baby." He admitted there comes a time when allyou can do is "take an old cold taterand wait."
It takes time to get tuned up aftera three or four week break, but thelast two meetings were edifying, andenjoyable to all present. A meetingmissed is a loss that can never berecovered.
HOW I ENJOYEDTHE FEAST OF
TABERNACLESby CliftonJ. Tracy, Jr.
Of all the three years I have attended the Feast, I can say, this wasthe very best!
I learned more about prophecy, thepurpose of why God commanded usto be there, what it means to be soclose together with one another, toactually live as a family. And aright and wrong way to help othersand receive other's help. Wordscannot express the joy I had livingon the grounds with my family ofGod 1s people and enjoying the blessing of Our Father living in the wayHe so graciously guided us thoseeight days!
Imagine the joy that filled my heart, when I learned we were living intents, because it pictures the timewhen Israel will live in temporarydwellings.
At dust, tall streams of smoke popup here and there as the darkness turns into night. The hush ofbreathless silence is broken by whispers of sweet music of stringed instruments floating past your ears,as you draw closer to the light in thatsmall clearing among the trees. Asyou draw closer, silhouetted againstthe campfire light among the trees, you see tents with their supportingropes at t a c h e d to stakes in theground. Row after row you pass, voices get louder and louder. Thesmell of fresh fish is in the air.Suddenly, you are in the midst of agroup of people like yourself eating,
Mr. Tracy announcing dinner.frying fish, drinking ice cold beer, and enjoying one another in conversation and fellow s hip. Feel thewarmth of the fire as the Colemanstove belches out a beautiful blueflame against a seething pot offresh

to man to keep and to dress. Whenthe plane landed in Boise, Idaho, wesaw how man has ruined and pollutedthis garden. However, our Brethrenwith whom we visited, on this firstleg of our trip proved to be a refreshing contrast. I could not helpbut think as David said in Psalm 8:4,"What is man that thou art mindfulof him?"
Would God be pleased with the wayyou and I keep the bit of garden Hehas given us?

HOW I ENJOYED THE FEAST OFTABERNACLES
(cont. from page 2)bluegill fish.
Look into some of the familiarfaces: there's our own Mr. Brown,Mr. Luther Thomas from Oakland,Mr. Sheldon from Fresno, andothers. This is what I enjoyed at theFeast of Tabernacles in Texas.
This picture I have painted was realand true. I experienced every sceneof it and now writing this article andlooking back, it seems more realthan ever. It brings the Exodus ofOld with its Tabernacle and tents sovividly before my face with the present Tabernacle and tents, and looking forward to the future Tabernacleand tents, makes t his an earthshaking experience for me. Theshock of it all is beyond w 0 r d s ,Though this article cannot convey thefull joy I did experience, I do hopeyou too had a joyful experience withGod our Father at the Feast of Tabernacles!
Tile four of us sprang out of the car with typical, young teenage excitement. The darkness was just beginning to melt on that cold, invigoratingmo rning of 1952, and we were filled with zeal and excitement as we embarked on our hunting trip. We were determined to lay hold of our "prize"in the form of a rabbit, or better yet, rabbits! Armed with an assortmentof weapons, ranging from a .22calibre rifle to a 16-gauge shotgun,we were certain we would not fail !
As the sun rose higher in the blueLancaster sky, our once lively stepsbecame slower and our hopes beganto wane. By early afternoon we hadseen only a few of our long-earedfriends, and we we retired! Webegan to lose interest; in fact we hadlost sight of our original goal.
In this disinterested and lethargicstate we became careless - as thesun bore down, we shot aimlessly atanything and everything we saw.
By this time we had approached anisolated ranch and wandering around,we spotted 3 or 4 ground squirrelsdart quickly under a large pile oftimber. At long last! We had someanimals trapped!
One of my companions, armed witha 16 -gauge shotgun, "stood guard" atone end of the lumber pile, while Istood at the opposite end. And thenin a memorable, still-vivid moment,my friend saw a m 0 v e men t, andFIRED!
The roar of the blast was followedalmost simultaneously by the stinging, blinding spray of sand, splintered wood, and hot lead into mychest and face. Spinning around andclasping my hand to my face, I stoodthere stunned and shocked! I wasafraid to open my eyes, for fear thatI had been blinded.
My companions had me lie down, and as I lay there, I finally openedmy eyes. When I did, blood ran into one of them, and I "knew" I hadbeen hit in the eyes! Miraculously Ihad not, however. The blood wasfrom another wound about an inchaway from my eye - a near miss!A near tragedy!
That day is a valuable lesson forme. Today - in fact, for all of us.Aswe start the "day"with our "firstlove" of the truth, with zeal, excitement, and exuberance, we are soonconfronted with the trials and testsof the "heat of the day." Let us notbecome careless, that we lose sightof our goal, our reward. We mustremain stedfast, for the reward westand to lose is far greater than anything in the world!
