Hymn of Praise/Unison Scripture

GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS

VERSE 1Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father, There is no shadow of turning with Thee;

Thou changest not, Thy compassions, They fail not, as Thou has been Thou forever

wilt be.

CHORUSGreat is Thy faithfulness!Great is Thy faithfulness!

Morning by morning new mercies I see;All I have needed Thy hand hath provided,

Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me!

VERSE 2Summer and winter and Springtime and harvest,

Sun, moon, and stars in their courses above, Join with all nature in manifold witness,

To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

VERSE 3Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,

Thine own dear presence To cheer and to guide; Strength for today and

Bbright hope for tomorrow,Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

PSALM 133:1-3 (NLT)1How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony! 2For harmony is as precious as the anointing oil that was poured over Aaron’s head, that ran down his beard and onto the border of his robe. 3Harmony is as refreshing as the dew from Mount Hermon that falls on the mountains of Zion. And there the Lord has pronounced his blessing, even life everlasting.

This series will explore the nature and names of God as expressed in The Gospel of John and Revelation. AnnouncementsNOMA Honors Wendell Campbell

Mr. Wendell Campbell (1927-2008) was recently honored by the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) during their 46th annual conference held last week in Chicago. During this annual conference, over 600 minority architects, urban designers, community activists, and design students from across the country come together in fellowship and support.

During this annual conference, over 600 minority architects, urban designers, community activists, and design students from across the country come together in fellowship and support.

From our Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. Otis Moss III:

William Campbell draws from the African and African American wellspring of aesthetic power. The sanctuary we sit in is a result of his architectural genius. The design allows clear sight of the pulpit without the visual distraction of columns. The half-crescent shape of the sanctuary is reminiscent of the West African meeting house. The natural light flowing from the windows allows the Sanctuary to be flooded with the healing rays of the sun. What an act of brilliance from this man named William Campbell.

From our Pastor Emeritus, Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr.:

From the first night we met in Sam Allen and Rev. Barbara Allen’s home (in 1974) until the day the Lord called him home, Wendell Campbell was more than a consummate professional. His attention to detail and his passion for satisfying his clients, being flexible as new challenges arose and graciously addressing each challenge with expertise and excellence, made Wendell more than an A.I.A.-certified architect, recognized by TIME magazine as the architect of the year. Wendell’s willingness to help my friends and our young members resulted in a new Worship Center for Parkway Garden Christian Church where my friend, Rev. John Foulkes served as Pastor; and resulted in his hiring our Junior Deacon, Gerri Moore (fresh out of IIT’s architectural school). Gerri is now an architect for MGM in Las Vegas. Wendell’s love for people, for family, for truth and beauty gave us his lovely wife, June Campbell, as our member. June joined Trinity UCC the Sunday we dedicated the first “CAMPBELL” Project at 532 W. 95th Street. Wendell’s tenaciousness and desire for perfection sealed our partnership as together we dreamed, planned, designed and built our Flower Shop, two Senior Citizen facilities, two Child Care centers, and the 400 West 95TH Street Worship Center where we worship today. Wendell was more than a professional. He was more than a “perfectionist.” He was more than an excellent architect. Wendell was a friend! We celebrate, along with N.O.M.A., the recognition of his skills and the celebration of his life, his labors, and his amazing legacy.

An unforgettable account of an idealistic, gifted young lawyer’s coming of age, a moving window into the lives of those he has defended, and an inspiring argument for compassion in the pursuit of true justice.

Join us in welcoming... Dr. Brittney Cooper Sunday, October 28, 2018

Book signing following the 11:00 a.m. worship service.

So what if it’s true that Black women are mad as hell? They have the right to be. In the Black feminist tradition of Audre Lorde, Brittney Cooper reminds us that anger is a powerful source of energy that can give us the strength to keep on fighting.

Eloquent Rage keeps us all honest and accountable. It reminds women that they don’t have to settle for less. When Cooper learned of her grandmother’s eloquent rage about love, sex, and marriage in an epic and hilarious front-porch confrontation, her life was changed. And it took another intervention, this time staged by one of her homegirls, to turn Brittney into the fierce feminist she is today.

“Cooper may be the boldest young feminist writing today...and she will make you laugh out loud.” - Michael Eric Dyson
