Chapter 1

Of course my luck would be so good that I get the

most rare disease in the world. To be honest Idont even know the name of it. They think that I

got it last weekend when I was at the riverbed.

Nobody has ever survived this disease. The last

time anyone contracted this disease was 1953. He

died. As did the other 300 people that have had it

in its 300 years of existence. I wasnt any

exception.

Chapter 2

Ahh-ugh, my voice groggled in pain. Hold on

son well get the morphine in you to stop the

pain. My dad said although he knew it wouldnt

help. He tried to hide that fact that he was morescared than me. I got my broad shoulders and

dark brown hair from him. And most people say

we act just alike. Although, I believe Im more like

my mom but oh well. Ill be dead in a few days

anyways. Dr. Achmad, my doctor asked my

parents to speak to him in room 15, six rooms

down. Number 9 is my favorite number so I hadasked for that to make me feel better. It was like

make a wish foundation and that was my wish. My

last wish. I could overhear them talking. Did I

mention I have like super-human senses. Like all

my doctors envy my senses. Umm as you

know nobody has found a cure for this. Dr.

Achmad stated. Although I could tell my fatherwanted to pummel him I know hes a nice man.So

what are you saying? My dad was indeed pissed.

You could hear it in histone.

Im deeply sorry to say this Mr. and Mrs.

Bromwell, your son is dieing. He paused. Hell

be dead by tomorrow.All of my hopes of living,

ceased to exist. I started to convulse. My vision

was blurring and I went blank.

Chapter 3

I was envisioning being with my family. I was a

little baby on a beach making sand castles. This is

the first of this dream but not the first of any. This

stuff has been happening a lot lately. When Iawoke I was still alone. I could hear the nurse

outside talking. I could hear the snoring of my

eldest brother Anthony. I could just hear the

nurses talking about me saying, That Bromwell

kid is a hot mess. In the midst of this I heard this

loud tapping. At first I thought it was a nurse

running. But this noise was much louder anddistant. But It was growing till it stopped at my

door. Someone stepped in.

thirties. So just a little to young to be my dad.

Seeing as Im 17 now.You have a special gift that

will advance when you become one of us.One of us? What does he mean.

Us as in vampires. I want you to join my Coven.

super-human senses will turn into super vampire

senses.

But im not afraid to die.

Im sorry but me and my family have made our

choice. You will join us.

He lunged into me, I wouldnt be able to react

even if I wasnt on a hospital bed. This was the

most horribly pain you could imagine. I could see

the little squiggly dots in my eyes. Then blood

filled that up. And my whole bed was soaked. Irealized I had to scream to get help.

Chapter 4

Warren whats wrong? Dr. Achmad seemed

tense.

Ththe ma I couldnt get the word out or see

straight. I then blacked out for the fourth time in

three hours. My dream was me running, fromvampires. There were several chasing me. I saw a

cliff up ahead but it didnt hesitate to jump into the

water. I woke up. I could hear the life support

attached to me and could hear me flat lining. How

was this possible? When I opened my eyes my

family was agape. I didnt have time to talk and

explain what happened. I had to find Almand. Iducked out of there somehow and ran out of the

hospital. He was waiting at the edge of the forest.

In the sun, he sort of glowed. I looked to see if I

did and sure enough I did. This is crazy I

muttered under my breath.

No its magnificent. I hope you have decided if

youll be with my family.

But what about mine? I cant leave them here.

Where do you live?

About a te ten minute run for us, a half hour

drive.

Im guessing were running? I said

Ha. Yes. Youll meet your new family.I cringed at the sound of that. As we ran. It was so

amazing. I just flew by the trees. But I could see

everything perfectly. Every little spec of dirt.

Yeah well thats not going to happen I will never

Then you will live all eternity in misery. I dont

think you would want her to be like this. A

monster. Thats what we are. Graceful butmonstrous.

She sounded like a very lovely woman. But I dont

know if I could ever call her mom.Chapter 5

I walked into the beautiful home, with all eyes on

me.Everyone this is Warren. Warren this is your

family, Isreala, your mother. Edna your sister and

Alex your brother. Then theres our newest family

member Katrina.Katrina was clearly the most

beautiful of all the vampires. But Edna and Isrealawere not far behind. My brother looked a little

ticked off. His eyes looked like they were burning

with rage. Then I felt a sudden jolt.Ahh.

Alex, please tame yourself. You can trust him.

Hes one of the most tame newborns ive ever

seen. Warren Im sorry I forgot to tell you, Alex can

electrocute people.

"Yeah but not like..." Alex began to say

"Shhh..... Edna can predict the future and

Katrina can control peoples feelings.So I wasnt

the only unorthodox one. But what about Almand

and Isreala?Mmm, youve figured it out havent

you? Me and Isreala dont have any specialpowers beside that fact of gathering the most

powerful vampires of the century. But the Greek

Coven are all most powerful.

What is this Greek Coven? Isreala chimed in.

The most powerful Coven ever. Theyve been

around before the 7th century. They control

everybody.But not us. My brother said while grinding his

teeth.

Katrina was one of them once. Back a few

hundred years ago. She left because they were so

ruthless. She wandered for decades,came to

America and found us.

Ive been with them for about 3 years now.Katrina piped. Her voice was beautiful.We were

staring at each other for what felt like hours.

Ok, Warren. How about I show you your room?

Almand said cutting the silence.Still not keeping

my eyes off her,

Yeah, sounds good.

We walked up to the third floor of the house. It

was all one big room. It had its on bath and walk-

in closet. There was also steps that lead to a look-

out tower. This had a glass window on the ceiling

with a telescope so I could look out at the stars.

You like the look-out floor?

Yeah the view of it is amazing.It also had glass as the walls and floor.

We thought you would. We know how you like

solitude sometimes.

Yeah, true. Matter of a fact can I uhh.. I didnt

want to sound rude.

Yes, Ill give you some time alone."

As soon as he left I jumped out. I cant evenbegin to explain how amazing it is to run that fast.

I didnt know where i was going but i just needed

time to think. Time to think about this...madness. I

ended up in town. My home town. I lived there for

17 years until, now. Luckily it was dark out I had

to go see my family. I couldnt actually talk to them

though. I looked in and saw Sam,Allie, mom anddad and...Beth! She was sobbing..

"Beth, hes in a better place."

She was sobbing. I couldnt stand it. I had to tell

them i was ok. Hadnt they known i was alive?

"They are saying it was part of the disease.

He would go on a mad frenzy, run off and die."

I jumped down and rang the doorbell.

"Sam please get the door." Dad sobbed.

Chapter 6

Right once the door opened. I could hear

running toward me. Oh dear. I got slammed intothe bushes by Alex. He cupped his hand over my

mouth.

"What are you thinking."He said so low a

human could not possibly hear.

"They have to know im ok."

"No Warren. Not gonna happen. They cant

know."Why not?"

"Humans can never know. The Greek Coven

could come looking for us. They alrea..Just dont

"My family wouldnt tell anybody."

"We cant take a chance to trust humans."

"Hey asshole i was one less than a day ago.""Yeah and i was less than a century ago."

So we started to run home in silence.

"Listen." Alex said as i slowed down so he

could talk to me. "Maybe..Maybe we can go to

Freshorn and you can see Beth. Dad was talking

about it a few years ago. At a different place but

still."

"Ok that sounds better."

"Ill help you get through this bro."

We got home and i ran in.

"Hey Almand. I was wanting to know if we

could make a deal. I wont tell my family about us,

if you let me and Alex,Trina and Edna go toFreshorn for the rest of the school year.

"Well we wouldnt let you say anything

anyways. But Ok yeah that sounds good

Mr.Bently."

That sounded very weird. "So we start on

Monday?"

"Ill call now."Almand called the school and enrolled us 4 in.

"Make sure they get some classes together.

Well Alex and Edna are Seniors but Katrina and

"Can you fax the schedule tonight."

"I dont think thats poss..""Please." Almand said in a sweet-non vampire

tone.

"Of course Mr. Bently

"Thank you. Have a great night, get home its

late."

"Uhh,ermm, Thanks?"

She hung up.

"Well there ya go kiddo. No go get some rest.

Newborns usually get tired and can sleep a little."

"Ok, i dont feel tired."

"Get used to it." Trina cut in. "Warren lets go

hunt. Im sure you want to. right?"No not really."

"Oh ok." she sounded upset.

"If i cant bear school ill leave early and you

can come."

"OK!"She screamed. "Uh i mean ok."

I went up to my room. I took my phone upstairs to

the lookout tower. I gave it a new name. My break-room. I decide I wouldnt let people go up there. I

was looking at the stars and remembered how

much i used to be amazed by this wandering

whats out there. And for some reason I knew what

was. There was billion upon billions of

civilizations. All thinking the same thing, Is there

more out there? For some reason I realized therewas a planet full of just...vampires. I had this

feeling. I wanted to go there one day.

"Hey Trina!" She came running up. I realized i

just broke my first rule, nobody alowed in. She

seemed to know.

"Oh sorry."

"Uhh, no come in. I have a question. Is there a

planet that uhh, this sounds crazy. Is there a

planet of just vampires?"

"Yes there is. Ive been there. Wi...Well ive

been there. Ive never told anybody besides mom

and dad. Not even Alex knows."

"Why?""I hate my past."

"Oh uhh sorry i wont ask."

"Well some day...ask"

"Ok."

Then she ran off. Then my phone buzzed. A text

from..Beth.

Listen Warren. I know your outthere..Somwhere just come see me sometime

please i miss you. I love you so much.

I tried to cry. But no tears came. Oh god now i

cant cry. I had to tell Alex what i was going to

do.

"Listen Alex, I have to go see her and tell

her im ok.""Thats fine. And if you need to..you can tell

her."

"I wont. I dont think. I just dont think when

im around her I love her so much."

"Yeah..I know."He sounded upset.

So i ran off.Beth, love. Im coming over. Dont tell anybody.

Open your window.Dont ask questions till i get

there.

My mom will hear you.

No questions.

It took about 10 minutes to get there. I ran andjust leaped into her house gracefully. A

graceful monster? Thats weird.

"Warren? Thats you?"

"Yes."

We hugged.

"I love you so much. Im sorry i hurt you im

sorry i didnt tell you."

"I love you but youve changed."

"OH i understand."

"No your condition. I understand."

Her brittle human body quivered as i pulled

myself closer. She hesitated back and i could

tell she felt the coldness of my body. Her scentwas so mouth-watering.

"What?"

"Nothing. Beth, Ive missed you. Why does

it smell like puke in hear?"

"I uhh. Im sick."

Then i noticed it. I could hear three hearbeats,Beths and her moms.

"Who else is hear?"

"Nobody."

"Yeah there is i can hear some.."I stopped

cold. "Is your mom pregnant?"

"No of course not."Then i remembered. "You are."

"Yes, how did you know?"

"I cant tell you, but this is bad. Real bad."

"Why?your back you can be hear for our

child."

"No i cant. Beth im not human." I blurted

out.

"Warren the disease hasnt taken ur

humanity from you."

"No but Almand did."

"My vampire father."

"What, what are you talking about."

"Beth I am not human. Im not technicallyalive. Hear feel my pulse. Or try to."

She sat there for a bit feeling around my cold

body.

"There isnt one." She put her hand on

my..vacant spot on my chest. where my heart

used to be. "Your not beating at all.""Thats why we cant be together. Im a

vampire."

"I cant believe this."

"Trust me."

"Ok, lets go tell Dave and Jane and

everybody else that your alive."I could tell shedidnt believe me.

"No!"i snapped. "I can only tell you."

"your right youve changed. I dont want my

baby around you.Your talking about being a

vampire.Youve gone crazy. I understand thats

the disease but..I dont want MY baby around

you."

"Good choice."I whispered so she couldnt

hear.

"Get out of my room and my house. Get out

She started to cry and ran to her bathroom. I

stood there for a bit ready to go talk to hermore but and jumped out. I started to walk

home. I could run and feel no difference really

but decided to walk.

Chapter 7

First day of school. I got to drive the car since istill drove like a human. I really didnt have my

license but i had an id saying i was 18 but

whatever.

"Warren whats wrong?"For some reason

she always knew when i was down. She also

knew when i lied so i couldnt do that."I went to Beths last night.

"Oh, your girlfriend."

"My ex. She broke up with me."

"Oh, im sorry."

"Its for the best i suppose. She cant love

me. Im too different.

"Thats true its too much danger for her.

She needs a human and you need a vampire.

She reached out and held my hand for the rest

of the way. Everyone else was silent till i broke

it when we almost pulled in.

"Ahh...were here!"

"You sure this wont be hard for you

Warren? Alex asked.Then Edna butted in. "Nope he'll do just

fine."Idk if she had forseen this or if she was

just trying to calm us all. Even though Trina

could do that for us. I took the time to look at

my schedule for the hundredth time. I had first

period english and seventh period history withTrina. She had been through most of the

history so she'd help me out with answers. But

all i could think about was the fact that Beth

had first period English also. Then i felt a

sudden calmness over me.

"Thanks.""No problem."

It was just me and Trina going to first period.

Alex and Edna had all classes together. Theyve

been together longer so i understood. Then

when we walked through the doors and

everybody was staring. I could hear people

whispering, "thats the new family.I guess the

rumor about them all being beautiful was true."

I chuckled to myself. As did Trina.

"Warren everybodys staring at you."

"I dont think so I think its you there staring

at." Although clearly it was me they were

looking at.

"I dont care now that im not one of them."Iwhispered this so low a human couldnt imagine

to hear.

"Whatever loverboy. Lets get to class."

We were almost late but made it with 10

seconds to spare. Mr. Tickton, my former

english teacher spoke. "Oh hello, excuse meclass, this are our new students. Warren and

Katrina Bently."

"Call me Trina...please." She looked a little

ticked.

"Uhh..of course. Now do I have to separate

you two or will you be fine together?"We looked at him with blank stares. He

probably was a little frightened considering i

havent hunted in awhile and i was a little angry

i was in this class.

"Ok so uhh.. your seats are in the back next

to Beth and Kristy."

Oh great. Of course this would happen. Beth

stared at me. Then back at Trina till we got to

our seats.

"Hey Trina im Beth."

"Im sorry you got stuck here at Freshorn.

Most of the people here are jerks. Especially

the guys.""Yeah well we were suggested this school

by my brother Warren here."

"Hey." I said reluctantly.

"Hello." Beth looked pissed.Then she

looked back at Trina with a smile. I knew it was

fake. Ive known her for too long not toknow."So I heard you had another brother and

sister."

"Yeah."Trina continued."But me and

Warren here were adopted. Me when i was

about born and Warren when he was about 8."

"So how did he know about Freshorn.""From a friend that moved from here to

Washington,which is where we used to live."

"Oh really?Why did you guys move?"

I had also wanted to know this question so this

caught my attention even more.Trina looked at

me. Then back at Beth.

"Well, thats not any of your business

Beth." Trina hissed.

Chapter 8

Lunch was very brutal. We had to eat food

to make it look unsuspicious. It was completely

awful. If i could throw up I wouldve. But ofcourse vampires cant throw up.Then i got a text

Why are you acting so strange while you eat?

All of you are. Its weird. Whats happened to you?

You arent tan anymore. You dont have brown eyes

anymore. Your pale white.And your like perfectly

sculpted.If I could tell you I would. Unfortunately Its not

my secret. So I cant say.

"Warren weve got a problem. The Greek

Coven knows your with us. And they know

where your at. They also know how powerful

you are." Edna piped.

"How?" I asked.

"Well when I was with the Coven theres this

prophecy. Its long and I cant nearly explain all

of it. But a part of it talks of a very powerful

vampire who cant die when they come in

contact with fire. So they will never die. Which

theyll find out a little while after there becoming

of a vampire.That same vampire is said to have

super vampire senses."

"What does that have to do with me?"

"I dont know Warren."

"What do you mean.""Well its said that as a human this vampire

had super human senses. This is why we came

"Excuse me? You guys didnt come for me

to give me another chance but to...to..use me?"

"No...well at first we...""You guys probably made me sick too."

"Warren its not like that.."

"Yeah it is..Goodbye you sick monsters."

Then Alex grabbed me."Your a monster too."

"Not nearly as bad as you three."

I ran over too Beth. She looked surprised."Listen I'll explain everything. Get my

family together at my house..Now go get my

brother and sister and i know we cant get

Anthony out but I'll explain to him later."

"Warren I love you."

We kissed for the first time. I held my breath in

all day and especially now because were so

close. And i tried not to force it on to strong.

"Well your a better kisser."She said.

Then I did it i didnt mean to but i did. I took a

useless breath out of habbit.And her scent was

so delicious. I had to leave. I covered my mouth

and tried to say "I love you."

But i doubt she could hear.I ran to my vampire home.I had to tell them

I was leaving.Even if they had lied to me I still

had to say goodbye.

"Isreala, Almand, Im leaving.I know you

guys used me."

"Your right,at first.""I dont care.Its wrong."

"We love you."

I knew they did but I was so angry.

"Goodbye."

I ran home smashed through the door,literally. I

would have to pay for that later.

Chapter 9

"Warren!O my gosh. You look so..." Mom

began.

"I know I can explain. Its not the disease.

Its..."I got cut off

"We understand. Were just happy your

alive." Dad said.

"Well thats what im saying im no.."I got cut

"Warren Its fine."

"No!"I snapped.They looked shocked."Its

not fine Im not alive I will be like this forever. Ima vampire. I dont eat food my taste is for blood.

But not human blood i couldnt do that."

"Is this a joke?" Sam asked.

"Oh how i wish it was."

"Warren you cant possibly.."

I had to prove it to them. I ran and picked upthe couch where they all stood without effort.

"Ok so your really strong now no proof."

"Come outside watch this."

I ran to the nearest tree. I grabbed dad.

"Hold tight."

I jumped up and started to climb. I could hearhis heart skip a couple beats.

"What in the world is going on with you."

I looked him deep in the eyes. "Im not the same

kid you raised from birth."

"You really are a...a vamm.."

"Yeah. A vampire."

We jumped down.

"Everyone hes right."

I looked at Beth she was frightened.

"Warren..Im sorry I didnt believe you."

"Situation in reverse I would do the same. I

love you all is it ok If i stay?

"Of course. But what about the non aging

thing.""I will have to move.."

"We will move with you."

I smiled. I picked up Beth and zoomed to my

room.

"Are you staying the night?"

"Yeah. Are you tired.""No, vampires dont sleep. Well newborns

do sometimes. But Im not like normal

newborns."

"Oh. Well goodnight."She leaned in to kiss

me. I hesitated. Held my breath. I had to control

myself. She could sense my tension."Whats wrong?"

"Your scent its soo..."It was so

intoxicating. I could easily just kill her right

there. It would be easy then I could just be a

nomad and travel the world.

"But i wont hurt you. I cant."

"I trust you."

I cringed at that. I just thought about how easy

it could be to hurt her.

"Dont."

She grabbed me and pulled me onto the bed

and pressed her lips into mine.I pulled away.

"Go to sleep babe."

"I love you.""I love you."

While she slept I thought about how hard this

would be to live with them. I decided to go

hunt. Then I got a whiff of a familiar scent. Or

scents. It was the Bently kids.

"If you three value your lives you'll get outof this area...Now!"

"Listen we understand your mad but dont

threaten my sisters."

"I could easily kill all of you."

Alex ran and slammed into me.

"And dont threaten me either."I pushed him off and jumped on him.

"Dont tell me what to do."

Edna and Trina pulled me off. I pushed them off

with little effort.

"Go now."

Trina looked at me."Hes not joking guys, lets

go."

Alex looked like he was going to argue but

made the right choice. They were off in a flash.

Then i saw a deer in the distance. Lets get this

over with. I pounced on it before it had anytime

to even think. I couldnt help to feel sorry for

this poor animal. How could I kill them if i

barely had it in me to kill this deer?I ran home just in time to listen to the two

heartbeats in my bed. Beth was having a

nightmare talking about a vampire trying to

steal her baby. What am I doing? What if some

other vampire comes to hurt her? I looked at

the clock it was 5:12. I tuned in to hear my momwaking up. But then I heard a tv turn on. Not in

the house but, the neighbors. I heard it talking

about a mysterious person coming into the

dorms at Anthonys school. Oh no. I kissed

Beth on the cheek and ran off. I got to the

school in 15 minutes. I ran to the guys dormsand it was trashed.

"Do you go to school here?"I glared my red

eyes at the man. Probably the Dean.

"What happened?Is Anthony Brom.." He

was dead. I smelt a vampire nearby. Running

towards...Europe.

"He..."I didnt have time I ran through the

door, and followed the scent.

15 minutes went by and I was gaining fast. But

not fast enough we were close to the coast.

Then I could finally see him. I could sense his

fear. He was wearing a black coat that came

down to his ankles.

I could also see the water. I had to act fast.I leaped into the air and fell into him. I nailed

him in the face.

"Why did you kill my brother? That was a

bad choice."

"Sid wants to meet you."

"I dont care who wants to meet me. Yourgoing to die."

"He'll just keep sending more. And killing

more of your family."

"Not likely."

He kicked me off into a tree which collapsed.

But before he had time to get up and startrunning i was back on him. I slammed him into

a pile of sand.

"I would tell you to send a message to him

for me but me killing you will be good enough."

I snapped his neck and well brutally

dismembered him. I remembered that you had

to burn the vampire so I quickly started a fire

from the fallen tree. And threw the pieces in

and ran off.

Chapter 10

How could i be so thoughtless. I couldnt be

with this family. I had to go back to the Bentlys.If they would take me back. If not I would fight

this Sid guy alone. Which I guessed was the

leader of this Greek Coven. I knew it would be a

stretch but i only wanted to take out atleast Sid.

The rest would be for pride.

It was hard to say goodbye to my family butthey sort of understood. They were all crying

for Anthony but of course I cant cry. Beth was

pissed. She didnt say goodbye.

"I'll always be protecting you guys. No

matter what happens. I meant this to all but I

stared at Beth the whole time.I ran off into the night. Till i got home. My actual

home now. Edna was waiting at the doorstep.

"What took ya so long bro?"I laughed

"Im sorry that.."

"I dont care, we dont care. Well Alex is a

little mad but he'll come around."

I walked in and Trina was staring at me. Alex

looked pissed but mom and dad looked happy.

We should be saying sorry to you. Isreala

croaked. We love you and wont do anything to

hurt you ever again.Well I have one thing to say and that is

that I want back at this Greek Coven.

In do time Warren. We dont have enough

numbers yet.

Well how about we start searching. Well

before we do I need to go hunt.Ah, yes its been awhile huh? How about

you and Trina go she hasnt been in awhile

either.

I nodded and looked at Trina and we were off.

Look Warren Im sorry to hear about your

broDont be. If It was his time then It was his

time.

Then why do you want payback so bad.?

I dont want them to come close to any of

my family again or..

Beth. She whispered.

Or my kid.

She gasped.

Well before I turned into this.

Then I felt her ease up a bit.

Goodness that sounded dumb. How come I

always got nervous around her? Like when I

first met Beth, ten years ago. She seemed tonotice the tension.

No! Hell no. I never liked Sid. It was, well

Oh..oh my, im so sorry I didnt know.Warren, Its fine its not like he didnt try to

kill you. They wouldve killed you if you

wouldve declined. Besides It was a all a lie.

Just to use my strengths. Im the reason why

the Coven is so strong. I eased all their

Then the weirdest thing happened. The

werewolf did some kind of body changing thing

and turned into this beautiful vampire.
