The date is officially set
for September 14, 2013,
to kick off the 83rd
annual
Moody Family Reunion!
Once again we will be
meeting at the Maggie
Valley United Methodist
Church located on the
main road through Maggie
Valley, Soco Road.
We will open the doors at
11am with the group
photo at 12pm, followed
immediately by lunch.
Starting during the lunch
hour, we will have The
New Date Set for 2013 Reunion
Making the Reunion Memorable
It’s no hidden rumor that
most who visit Maggie
Valley during this time of
year have the usual same
complaint; there’s nothing
to do but the reunion.
Let’s face it, once you visit
the few shops that are in
town, you eventually drive
elsewhere for things to do,
see, or eat. Most families
simply do not come back
to the reunion because of
the lack of extracurricular
activities outside of the
reunion. I was one of
these families for a long
time.
Actually there are many
Ross Brothers entertain
us with some bluegrass
gospel music up till 1:15
followed by the live
auction till 2pm.
The reunion will then
come to order with the
new and old business and
then will conclude until
next year. Hopefully we
will be done by 3pm. Just
3 short hours that you will
spend with your relatives;
almost seems to too short
of time if you ask me.
Be sure to start collecting
all sorts of items for the
2nd
Annual Moody Family
Auction as we try to set
another record this year in
collected revenue for the
reunion fund. Our last
reunion auction rose over
$600!! Thanks again to all
of you that contributed to
the success of this and
let’s make this New Year
the biggest ever!
things to do in the valley
area; however some of
them are not the cheapest
things to do. One of the
things that I am looking
forward to this year is the
planning of our family
“mini-vacation”. As you
know, the reunion also
takes place during the
school year, and I want
my son to get that perfect
attendance ribbon, but I
am letting him miss one
day this year to
experience the
Cataloochee Ranch. He
has not had the
opportunity to experience
living a few days at 5,000’
elevation while staying
active with horseback
riding, hiking, and wagon
rides.
I’m sure that you can find
something within 30-50
miles of Maggie Valley
that would be a great
family outing or fun thing
for singles to do also. Try
visiting some of the
websites for attractions in
the local area also as well
as the Chamber for
Maggie Valley also.

One benefit of using your

promotional tool is that
you can reuse content
from other marketing

and reports.
While your main goal in
distributing a newsletter
might be to sell your
product or service, the key
to a successful newsletter
is making it useful to your

A great way to add useful
content to this newsletter
is to develop and write
your own articles, or to
include a calendar of
upcoming events or a
special offer that promotes
a new product.
You can also research
articles or find “filler”
articles by accessing the
World Wide Web. You can
write about a variety of
topics, but try to keep your
articles short.
Much of the content you
put in your newsletter can
also be used for your Web
site. Microsoft Word offers
a simple way to convert
your newsletter to a Web
publication. So, when
you’re finished writing
your newsletter, convert it
to a Web site and post it.
