A proposal to incor-porate the Branchport Fire Company has fallen through because of a lack of support from the Pulteney Town Board. The fire company needed resolutions from both the towns of Pulteney and Jerusalem in order to incorporate, but on Wednesday, Nov. 8, the Town of Pulteney, by a 4-0 margin with Coun-cil member Edna Tears absent, voted down the proposal, while the Town of Jerusalem which held its meeting the same night, passed the motion by a unanimous vote.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that a public hearing will be held by the Town of Benton on the 10th day of December, 2014, at 7:00 p.m., at the Benton Town Hall, 1000 Route 14A, Town of Benton, New York, regarding the adoption of a Local Law of the Town of Benton for the year 2014, entitled “A local law To Provide That The Exemp-tion For Solar Or Wind Energy Systems Pursuant To Real Property Tax Law Section 487 Shall Not Be Applicable Within The Town of Benton”. This local law would remove the ex-emption, provided by the NYS Real Property Tax Law Section 487 for any solar or wind energy system whose construction be-gins after the effective date of this local law.
Any resident of the Town of Benton shall be entitled to be heard upon said proposed Local Law at such public hear-ing. Copies of said proposed Local Law are available for review at the Town of Benton Town Hall, 1000 Route 14A, Town of Benton, New York.
