We’ve completely revisioned the way we’re creating our website. We’ve thrown all of the mechanical terms out the window and gave all our de-signers full control. What does that mean? We’ll get a website to you fast-er. Stay tuned. We’ll be online soon.

We’ve enlisted the help of some of the briliant Computer Scientists on cam-pus and we’ve come to an agreement. Project Eight needs software. Want a peak on the plan? All we can say for now is think big. Think live Channel Eight on your phone big.

Ever wonder exactly what Project Eight is all about? Want to know the secret behind our magic tricks and even try some for yourself? Well, we’re planning to reveal all of our secrets. Come out on Tuesday, September 25th, to the first Project Eight gen-eral meeting and meet the masterminds behind it all. Find out how Project Eight works and maybe learn some magic tricks of your own. Come join the team and help us start the semester off strong.

Positions availble in Project Eight

The all-important Secretary of the Project Eight Board is responsible for keeping all board mem-bers up to date, while managing the club’s email and members. As secretary, you will keep us organized and prepared. We can’t be the best Project Eight without you.

We’re working on something totally new and exciting, and we want you to be a part of it! We need a dedicated Producer to take the helm and help us make it happen. The Producer will be responsible for managing the cast and crew, implementing the best workflow possible, and push-ing the project forward.

Our Video Technician will undergo the extremely important job of putting the whole show to-gether. It’s up to you to make magic happen - creating the masterpiece that is “The Campus”. Exercise your creative muscles by combining audio and video to tell a story that will leave CSBSJU breathless.

As the Video Technician, you will help the Project Eight Advertising team put together advertis-ing campaigns that will take CSBSJU by storm. Help us shoot and edit commercials that will have everyone on campus talking.

There are endless clubs and entities on campus, and its up to you to get the word out. You’re creativity and insight will make people laugh, cry and reconsider the abundance of activities on campus.

We have got so many events planned and we need help getting the word out. As a Public Rela-tions Officer, you will help us manage events and communicate our vision to the entire CSBSJU community.

Chronicle Is taking off smoothly, and now we need a photographer to help make our visuals even better. Help us capture images that will keep CSBSJU talking for weeks.

Claire Thibault is a senior Communications major, English-writing minor. She enjoys coaching and volunteering

for the Special Olympics, and is involved in Students for the Advancement of People with Differbilites on campus.

Most mornings you can find Claire giving tours to prospec-tive students on the SJU campus, or lost in a mountain of homework that comes with adding a minor your senior

year. In whatever free time she can get, Claire enjoys snug-gling up with a good book, catching up on her favorite TV

shows, or playing piano and singing. She is the Events Director for Project Eight, and looks for-ward to creating interactive events for students through-

out both campuses to take part in.

Meet Mr. Cody Lynch, the Vice President. He’s currently a junior at SJU with a communication major and film studies

emphasis. He’s an avid movie watcher an music listener with a great sense of humor. “I’m also not bad with cook-

ing... Ladies?“ He’s new to the Project Eight team this semester and is set-

tling in well. His ambition and dedication is sure to bring you new shows and a better Project Eight.

Say hello to the Website Director of Project Eight. While a sophomore at the College of Saint Benedict, Mariya and

the website team are working hard to get the Project Eight website up and running in a fun and functional way. Keep

an eye out for updates on this up-and-coming Project Eight venue.

While being a communication major with minors in global business and art, Mariya is also a member of the dance

team, as well as a dance instructor at her local studio. She also acts as the Alum Chair for Alpha Kappa Sigma sorority.She enjoys being a student ambassador and giving tours

for prospective students. Mariya is excited about this year with Project 8 and looks forward to making progress on

the website, as well as other aspects of Project 8.

.Dakota Moree is a Junior at the College of Saint Benedict, from Nassau, Bahamas. She is an English and Pre-medicine major. She is currently a Writing Center tutor and serves as

CSB Director of Public Relations for Project Eight and as Trea-surer for Amnesty International.

Back home, Dakota co-manages the charity, No Label; Pure Promise, that aids underprivileged children in three youth

shelters in the Bahamas. She has also received the S.T.R.A.W. Inc. Center for Young Women’s Leadership Award for her

services.

.Meet Senssue Vang, a senior from Saint Paul, MN with a Communications major and Gender studies Minor. He is involved with various clubs and organizations such as IWL and Asia Club. He has also gone studying abroad in Japan and has taken various internships. As he graduates he plans on taking his studies in Communication and transferring it to his future occupation and career.

As the SJU Director of Public Relations, Senssue is re-sponsible for communicating Project Eight’s vision to the

entire CSBSJU community. He’s in the perfect position to make use of the skills learned in his communications

major to make Project Eight better than ever.

.Letitia Thurston is a junior at College of Saint Benedict.

She is an Accounting major focusing on being a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). For two consecutive summers, she was taken into the accounting firm Deloitte & Touche

as a junior auditor. Also, during this school year, she is volunteering at Place of Hope – a center for the rehabili-tation and recovery of drug-addicts, victims of abuse and

the homeless.Having a passion for accounting, she decided to take on the role of ‘treasurer’ for Project Eight on campus. She’s responsible for the ever complicated job of managing

Project Eight’s Funds. Caller her Ms. CFO.

.John Heinz is a sophomore at Saint John’s and acts as Project Eight’s Head of Advertising. He is involved on

other activities on campus including being the “Warlord of the Slam” at the Pseudonym writing club, and member of the Speech and Debate team. He is an Economics and

English major and likes long walks on the beach.As Project Eight’s Head of Advertising, he is in charge of

creating commercials for the channel and also weighs in on board decisions.

Meet the creator of Project Eight, Bernard Ferguson. After transfering to CSBSJU and being hired by Media Services, Bernard came up with the entire endeavor of transform-ing the student access channel, Channel Eight. After es-

tablishing Project Eight in April 2011, he has transformed it from a one man unit to an army of over sixty members .Bernard enjoys his time at CSBSJU as a Computer Science major with a minor in Japanese. He also acts as the Linux Administrative Assistant and a Teacher’s Assistant in the

Computer Science Labs. “This year is going to be amazing. Project Eight is just get-

ting started.”
