Christopher Columbus was born in 1451 in Genoa, Italy. He was the oldest of 5 children.

On July 15, 1476 he traveled to Greece and Portugal then when he was in his teens he became a sailor!

He had a plan to find a route to Asia, west from Spain.
The king and Queen called him Admiral of the Ocean Sea!

On October 12, 1492 Christopher Columbus spotted land, and named it San Salvador.

On his second voyage he built a village, but the Indians there were not friendly.
