Jingle BellsTraditional

Dashing through the snow in a one-horse open sleigh,o’er the fields we go, laughing all the wayBells on bobtails ring making spirits bright,oh what fun it is to ride and sing a sleighing song to-night. Oh!

A day or two ago I thought I’d take a rideand soon Miss Fanny Bright was seated by my sideThe horse was lean and lank. Misfortune seemed his lotWe ran into a drifted bank and there we got upsot. Oh!

vv

Jingle bells! Jingle bells! Jingle all the way!Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh. Hey!Jingle bells! Jingle bells! Jingle all the way!Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh

Frosty the Snowman Walter “Jack” Rollins and Steve Nelson

Thumpety thump thump, thumpety thump thump, Look at Frosty go Thumpety thump thump, thumpety thump thump, over the hills of snow

Frosty the Snow Man, was a jolly happy soul With a corn-cob pipe and a button noseand two eyes made out of coal

Frosty the Snow Man, is a fairy tale they sayHe was made of snow but the children know how he came to life one day

There must have been some magic in that old silk hat they foundfor when they put it on his head he began to dance around

Oh, Frosty the Snow Man was alive as he could be And the children say he could laugh and play just the same as you and me

Frosty the Snow Man, knew the sun was hot that daySo he said, “Let’s run and we’ll have some funnow before I melt away.” Down to the village, with a broomstick in his hand,Running here and there all around the square, saying “Catch me if you can.” He led them down the streets of town right to the traffic copAnd he only paused a moment when he heard him holler, “Stop!”

Frosty the Snow Man had to hurry on his way,But he waved good-bye, saying, “Don’t you cry;I’ll be back again some day.”

Rudolf, The Red Nosed ReindeerTraditional

Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer had a very shiny noseand if you ever saw him, you would even say it glows

All of the other reindeerused to laugh and call him namesThey never let poor Rudolphjoin in any reindeer games

Then one foggy Christmas Eve Santa came to say,“Rudolph with your nose so bright, won’t you guide my sleigh tonight?”

Then all the reindeer loved him as they shouted out with glee,“Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, Gyou’ll go down in history!”

I Want a Hippopotamus for ChristmasJohn Rox

I want a hippopotamus for ChristmasOnly a hippopotamus will do Don’t want a doll, no dinky, tinker ToyI want a hippopotamus to play with and enjoy

I want a hippopotamus for ChristmasI don’t think Santa Claus will mind, do you?He won’t have to use our dirty chimney flueJust bring him through the front door; that’s the easy thing to do

Mom says the hippo would eat me up, but thenteacher says a hippo is a vegeterian

There’s lots of room for him in our two-car garageI’d feed him there and wash him there and give him his massage

vv

I can see me now on Christmas morning, creeping down the stairsOh, what joy and what surprise, when I open up my eyesto see a hippo hero standing there

I want a hippopotamus for ChristmasOnly a hippopotamus will doNo crocodiles, no rhinocerosesI only like hippopotamusesand hippopotamuses like me too

CHORUS

Dominick, the Italian Christmas DonkeyAllen, Merrell & Saltzberg

Santa’s got a little friend; his name is Dominick. The cutest little donkey, you’ll never see him kick When Santa visits his paisons, with Dominick he’ll be Because the reindeer cannot climb the hills of Italy

Jingle bells around his feet, and presents on the sled. Hey! Look at the mayor’s derby on top of Dominick’s headA pair of shoes for Louie, and a dress for JosephineThe labels on the inside says, ‘They’re made in Brooklyn’

Children sing, and clap their hands, And Dominick starts to dance They talk Italian to him, and he even understandsCummare’s and cumpare’s, do the dance ‘a tarantella’when Santa Nicola comes to town and brings ‘o ciucciarella`
