Christmas Jumper Day is back!

Last year, supporters from schools and offices across the UK put on their

fabulously-festive knitwear and donated £1 per person to SMA Support UK. This

year’s Christmas Jumper Day is on Friday 8th December so why not get

involved and help raise funds for SMA Support UK!

The Big Give Christmas Challenge!

We are delighted to be taking part in this year’s Big Give Christmas Challenge. Between

Tuesday 28th November and Tuesday 5th December, you can DOUBLE YOUR

DONATION to SMA Support UK at no extra cost through the Big Give Christmas

Challenge website! In November we will be sending you further details, including the

link to use for donations.

Santa Run in London: Sunday 3rd December

Join us for the 5K or 10K Santa Run in Victoria Park dressed in a FREE Santa suit!

To thank everyone who has raised sponsorship for the charity in 2017, we are

offering FREE places and will be there at the end with festive refreshments. Visit

Mud and Mayhem

Some of our wonderful supporters have

taken running to a new level this year by

taking part in obstacle events including

the Wolf Run, Spartan Run and Tough

Mudder. These challenging events offer

a great sense of camaraderie and

achievement. Everyone who took part

this year had a fantastic time. Contact

Get Out There For SMA!

How about an invigorating dip into

one of the UK’s stunning lakes with

the Great Swim Series? Events take

place during the summer months in

Loch Lomond, Lake Windermere,

Families and friends can now raise funds in the name of someone living

with SMA by setting up one of our new SMArt Funds. It’s an easy way to

see the cumulative total you’ve raised for SMA Support UK. There’s no

obligation to donate a particular amount, and it’s a nice way to show your

friends and families the difference their support makes.

• Steph and Rich Roberts’ Wolf Pack raised an amazing £3,000 for The Henry Roberts’ SMArt Fund at the Warwickshire

Wolf Run in April

• The Cameron family have worked very hard this year raising funds for Zac’s SMArt Fund. Events included a Colour

Run, Coffee and Cake Day and Bowls Event. Zac’s Dad, Craig, nominated SMA Support UK to be the chosen charity of

his employer, Johnston Smillie Chartered Accountants. We are delighted to support them with their fundraising

• Kelly Fletcher and family continued to encourage all their friends and family to support SMA Support UK through Lily

Mae’s Angel Fund. The annual #pinklippyday was a huge success!

• Teresa Peace-Minihan’s Stratford Summer Half Marathon raised over £1,200 for Rhemy Fitzpatrick’s Angel Fund

• Eileen Ball ‘s request for donations not gifts for her 90th birthday raised £180 for Georgia Ann Wright’s Angel Fund

• Joe Francis continues to inspire and amaze us with his fundraising, this year completing an Ironman and London to

Brighton Bike Ride in memory of his daughter, Nelle

• Jason and Laura Turk and friends raised a staggering £5,000 for The Isabel Turk Angel Fund at the London Nightrider

event in June

• Ed and Nicky Hornsby celebrated their son Jacob’s 10th birthday by raising over £6,000 for his Tribute Fund at a golf

day and dinner dance

• Tomasz Figurski raised over £200 at the gruelling Velothon Wales

• Thank you also to photographers Lee Bishop and Chris Wilkinson who have donated their services and captured

photos at some of our events this year!
