Dear Parishioners,

As we prepare to celebrate the nativity of

Our Lord, I pause to reflect upon our

previous year. This is our second Christmas

together, and I am excited for the Masses to

come and the opportunities to share time in

this most happy season.

In the gospel of Luke, “the angel of the

Lord stood by them, and the brightness of

God shone round about them.” These holy

words, describing the angelic visitation to the shepherds applies to us as well. As I reflect upon

the previous year, I believe with clarity that “the angel of the Lord has stood by us.”

Our challenge of emerging from isolation due to the coronavirus pandemic was intensified by the

challenge of restoring our church home after the ice and snowstorm of February. Through it all

“the angel of the Lord has stood by us.”

The hope and sheltering protection promised by the angel of the Lord pertains to each of us this

year for we have experienced the fulfillment of this promise each step of the way of our re

entering process and restoration of our church home.

As the story of Christmas unfolds in the gospel of Matthew, the wise men relate: “We have seen

his star in the east, and are come to adore him.” We too can identify with the wise men as we

have followed the inner spiritual light to arrive at the celebration of the nativity of the Lord.

Reflecting upon the experiences of the past year there is no room for doubt that both in our

parish family and in our personal lives, we have been gifted by the hope, sheltering protection

and inner spiritual light that radiates from the new born Jesus, the Messiah. Like the wise men

we too, “upon entering into the house, they found the child with Mary his mother, and falling

down they adored him.”

Let us continue upon our reflection of the visitation of the wise men. “And opening their

treasures, they offered him gifts; gold, frankincense and myrrh.” In the brightness of this holy

time, let us reflect and offer our best to “the child Jesus with Mary his mother.” The grace of God

will help us to make good our promise to live a holy life and always to give our best to Jesus and

Mary!

May this grace of God support and renew your family and home so that the new year to come

of 2022 will be in every way, a year of hope, sheltering protection and spiritual light.

Merry Christmas!

Your Pastor,

Father David

Queridos Feligreses,

¡Feliz Navidad!
