Thank you for your interest in Christmas at The Ickworth for 2016.

We love Christmas and Ickworth is the perfect setting for you and your family to kick back and relax, letting us look after you.

From the twinkling of the fairy lights on the Christmas tree to the sounds of fun and laughter from all corners of the house, you can be certain

that special memories will be made during your time with us.

Chef has put together some fantastic menus, the Fours Bears Den team have arranged some fun things for the children to do, so you can have

some much deserved me time during your stay. The rest of the team will be on hand to ensure that you have everything you need.

Please find an overview of the programme of events for the three days and should you have any questions, just give one of our team

a call and they can talk you through your queries.

Christmas at

Arrive from 12 noon to get you and your family settled. Should your room not be quite ready, have a spot of lunch in the conservatory, have a swim, enjoy a bike ride or stroll in the stunning 1800 acres of the Ickworth Estate.

Lunch* is served in the Conservatory from 12 noon.

For the older children (8+), why not join the Four Bears Den team and make your own chocolates and a decorate a box to keep them in.

Activities are available in the Four Bears den for the 0-8 year olds from 3pm to 5pm and the team have arranged a special activity of decorating gingerbread reindeer cookies.

For those arriving a little later than noon, why not book for afternoon tea*?

High Tea is served for the little ones from 5pm to 6pm followed by a film in the Cinema Room.

Dinner is served from 6pm daily so please ensure that you book your table in advance. House wine will be served with all meals and is inclusive in your package but if you would like to reserve something else for your meals, a selection of wines** will be available throughout your stay.

Join us for our welcome drink reception in the Drawing Room from 7pm. If you are eating earlier with the children, then just ask the team to bring you a glass of fizz to enjoy at your table.

Time to scatter food for Santa’s Reindeers.

For the older children, a further film will be shown in the Cinema Room.

Christmas Eve – 24th December 2016

Breakfast is served in the main house from 7.30am and in the Lodge from 8am until 10am. Those guests staying in the Lodge are welcome up in the main house if they wish to take a morning stroll.

Try your hand at Our Scavenger Hunt in the hotel grounds. Can you work out the missing picture? Morning Coffee* is available for those guests simply wishing to relax before a visit from a special visitor.

Please note that the Four Bears Den is open on Christmas Day but there will be no supervised sessions.

Pre-Lunch drinks are being served in the Drawing Room from 12 noon onwards, but you are welcome to dine from this time. Early times are the more popular with our guests, so be sure to book your table in advance to avoid any disappointment.

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without the Queen’s Speech which will be shown in the Cinema Room.

High Tea is served for the little ones from 5pm to 6pm followed by a film in the Cinema Room.

If you still have some room after your Christmas Lunch, our Family buffet dinner is being served from 6pm

The evening will be for you to do as you please, there are plenty of board games available from reception or a further film will be shown at 8.00pm in the Cinema Room.

Boxing Day brunch will be served at the Main House until 2.30pm. You won’t need to book so just turn up when you are ready. For guests staying the The Lodge please join us at the main house.

Get out and about the Estate with the bikes or take a stroll. The team have details of pre-planned routes for you to explore, try your hand at the treasure hunt too! Or book the little ones in for the morning Christmas Craft sessions in the Fours Bears Den.

For those children who are older than eight, The Four Bears Den has arranged a Board Game Challenge, see if you can outwit the team!

Join in the Christmas Party fun with The Four Bears Den team.Please note that this session is not suitable for children under 3 or over 8. Booking is essential.

High Tea is served for the little ones from 5pm to 6pm followed by a film in the Cinema Room.

Dinner is served from 6pm so please book your table.Join us for a glass of Champagne in the Drawing room from 7pm and for those dining earlier, just ask the team to bring a glass to your table.

As with other nights, a further film is being shown in the Cinema Room for the older children.

Boxing Day – 26th December 2016

Breakfast is served in the main house from 7.30am and in the Lodge from 8am until 10am. Those guests staying in the Lodge are welcome up in the main house.

So our housekeeping team are able to prepare for the next guests arriving today, we respectfully ask that you vacate your room by 10am.

Please feel free to stay and use the facilities if you wish to stay a little longer. The Four Bears Den has an activity of making a snow globe as a take home keepsake.

Tuesday 27th December 2016 – Time to Say Goodbye!

The Four Bears DenWe offer two hours complimentary supervised sessions in The Four Bears Den for children up to the age of 8 years of age. This is subject to availability and is given on a first come, first served basis. We strongly advise that all sessions are pre-booked including the lunchtime sessions for the older children prior to arrival to avoid any disappointment.

Dining over ChristmasChef has prepared special menus for your stay during Christmas. We can cater for most dietary requirements but advance notice must be given in order to prepare the meals for you.

As we often have a high proportion of larger groups staying with us over the Festive period, it is essential that you book your table in advance to avoid disappointment. You will have a table allocated to your party for the duration of your stay with us.

Only meals stated in this programme are included in your package price, all other additional meals, snacks and beverages (with the exception of house wine included in your package) are chargeable. All meals will be served in the main house unless otherwise stated.

Payment of your AccountA 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking with us. The remaining package balance of your account is due on 1st December 2016.

We accept all major credit cards but we no longer accept payment of personal or company cheques for payment on departure. Your deposit is non-refundable in the event of a cancellation.
