What is?
• Is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus.
• As a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the word.
• It is not included in the list of Christian festivals.
History:
• During the time protestant celebration of the birth of Jesus was banned by some churches because of the relationship with Catholicism.
The three wise men:• Melchor: he is distinguished
by he’s white and long beard, and he is his clear blue eyes.
• Gaspar: he has a beard of red color and his eyes are brown.
• Baltasar: he hasn’t got beard and his color is darker.
History:
• They came from the East , they were guided by a star that led them to Belén. And there they sought the baby Jesus , and offered presents.
Santa Claus:
• He is distinguished by its snow white beard and his sleigh pulled by reindeer . He has a hat and a suit of white and red with a bag on his back full of presents for children.
Typical dishes of some countries:
• United Kingdom (UK):
- Drinks: ron and brandy.
- Food: pudding.• Spain: - Drinks: cava and
sidra. - Food: shortbread,
nougat and marzipan.
• France: - Drinks: came. - Food: bûche de
Noël.
• Greece: - Food: christmas bread.• Italy: - Drinks: cava - Food: pandoro, nougat
Christmas in the arts, television and film.
• In the art: - Many fictional Christmas stories are
made with themes of hope or miracle story. Among the most popular are the ballet, and the novel nutcracker.
• On the TV: - Many series transmit a chapter related
to Christmas.• Movies:
- Have cast many films related to Christmas: Grinch
