My dear friends in Christ,
A big thing in life is where you are from. We say “your accent betrays you.” Sometimes we judge totally on where people are from. Pilate was the same with Jesus. With all he knew of him and heard, the miracles and the speeches — where are you from? Are you a king really? What sort is your kingdom? Pilate was intrigued by the words of Jesus. We are too because our Christian life is getting to know Jesus more, and taking part in His mission. The type of person He was. That He came from God and from humanity. He speaks of the best of God and the best of us, the best of heaven and the best of earth. He is worth our following. Our role or vocation is our calling to be like Him. Our mission is fulfilled when we live like Him and follow Him in love and service.
I would like to thank everyone who participated in the photo sessions for the Parish Directory. Special thanks to Ron Maniglia who coordinated this effort with Life touch Studios. I thank the volunteers who gave of their time and talent to check people in and make them feel comfortable as they waited to be called in the studio.
Now that Thanksgiving is behind us, we, as a parish, begin our preparation for the Birth of Our Lord at Christmas. Please refer to the bulletin and be a part of our Advent preparations by participating in the Liturgies and being present for our Tree Lighting and Blessing of The Manger. May we approach this season with joy in our hearts!

BLESSING OF THE MANGER AND OUR PARISH TREE LIGHTING

The Blessing of the Manger and Lighting of the Tree will take place immediately after the 4:00 PM Mass. These events are parish favorites. We hope you can join us as we gather to sing Christmas carols and then warm up with some Hot Chocolate and Cookies. Hope you’ll be with us to lend your hearts and voices on this occasion as we prepare for His coming.
2019 MASS BOOK NOW OPEN Our Mass Book for the Year 2019 is now open. Intentions will be accepted for both Weekday and Sunday Masses. There will be no limitations on the number of Masses you may request. Sanctuary Lamp reservations may also be made at this time. Thank you.

ALTAR & ROSARY SOCIETY There will be NO Meeting on Saturday, December 1 But please do mark your calendar for the next meeting on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11:00 AM in Bogdan Hall, for the HOLY ROSARY, a short meeting, and always the Covered Dishes our members bring. HOLY LAND OLIVE-WOOD CHRISTIAN ART
Weekend of December 8, 9, 2018 The Olivewood carving industries have evolved as a cultural tradition of the Christians over many centuries. Many Holy Land Christians in the Bethlehem area alone rely upon income generated from this art form. Local Catholic artisans carve the items. A representative will be here on the above weekend with Olivewood Art which will be available for your purchase and a beautiful gesture for Christmas gift-giving. Thank you for your vital support for Christian Tradition and for your support of the Christian community in The Holy Land and to preserve Christian presence.
1st WAY OF BURLINGTON COUNTY Would You Be A Volunteer?
We are a pro-life crisis pregnancy center located at 500 High Street, Burlington, NJ, 609.871.1431. We are in need of volunteers to help poor Mothers and their babies. Hours are Mon thru Thur, 10 AM to 2 PM and Weds., 4 to 6 PM. If you are able to commit to 2 hours a week to give out diapers, formula, layettes, and clothing to these unfortunate families, please call Karen Pierce, 856.722.9418 or Director, Maria Lonergan, 609.284.7943. 1st Way is also in need of RN’s for pregnancy testing and counseling.
THANKS FOR GIVING A warm and sincere thank you to all who donated food or financial assistance to our Thanksgiving Food Drive. $1,500+ was collected for the SVDP Society along with 46 boxes, 16 cases, 13 turkeys and 2 slices of ham which were donated to Catholic Charities. What a great effort continues to be made on the part of our parish community. Corpus Christi really does care. Bless you!
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS Christmas/Holiday Raffle
Sacred Heart Council 5337 will be selling Holiday Raffle tickets the weekends of DECEMBER 1, 2 and 15, 16, 2018. Three prizes: $500, $300, and $200. Tickets are only $2.00 each. Who can’t use a little extra cash at Christmas? Drawing takes place on Wednesday, December 19th at the Knights of Columbus Home.
