A MESSAGE FROM THE ACTING PRINCIPAL

Kia ora koutou,

Welcome back to Term 3. The year is flying by. Term 3 is usually our wet and cold term. The RSV outbreak and the usual winter colds have led to a number of unwell children. Please keep children at home if they are unwell. We are continuing with hygiene procedures introduced last year to ensure that we are keeping our tamariki well.

This week we have held our mid year Three Way Learning Conferences. These are a great opportunity for you to meet with your child’s teacher and discuss their learning progress. Teachers have appreciated your support and commitment to celebrating your child at these conferences. If you have been unable to be at a three-way learning conference, please contact the homeroom teacher to make a time. Also ensure that you have logged into Hero to view your child’s learning information.

This term our Inquiry “What is Happening?” involves students working in a range of science fields. Children will be conducting science experiments and sharing their learning with a Science Fair on the last day of term. Keep an eye on newsletters for more information regarding this.

Winter Sport continues to be a highlight of the year for our senior students. It is always a pleasure to hear about our students displaying the school values by giving it a go and supporting each other during games.

The Administration Block renovation is continuing to progress and we are looking forward to starting 2022 with the office returned to the main block.

Over the last few weeks, I have had the pleasure of spending some time in the learning hubs. I continue to be amazed by both the work our students are doing and their attitude towards learning. We have a wonderful community of students.

Please make some time to drop into our Whānau Time in Team Koru learning hub. This runs from 8.30 - 9.15 on Friday mornings and is a chance for you to meet and connect with other parents in the school over a coffee.

Ngā mihi nui,Sally KentActing Principal
