Christ is Born! Glorify Him!

Such is our God, Who was born of a Virgin and lived among men;

no other is to be compared to Him. The only-begotten Son,

as man, is laid in a poor manger; the Master of all is wrapped

in swaddling clothes; and a star announces to the magi to come

and worship Him, and we sing; Holy Trinity, save our souls.

Dear Parishioners, Once again, we are celebrating the birth of Our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ. Let us lay aside our cares today, on this great day of joy and feasting, for ‘God is with us!’ Our spirits are renewed with courage hope and strength from Jesus Christ God - incarnate, who ‘lowered the heavens and came down… that He might fashion anew the corrupt Adam’. Since the fall of Adam and Eve, all of creation and nature, mankind has striven to find its true, relationship with God. Because we were incapable of uniting ourselves with God on our own, God descended to us; restoring and renewing our fallen human nature, which was distorted by sin. The coming of Christ wipes off the dust from the image of God in man and restores him to his rightful place as heirs of God’s Kingdom. He returns us to the embrace of our Heavenly Father, who grants us tranquility through His own grace and peace. The ongoing war in Ukraine is still in our hearts and there is turmoil in the world. Where is there ‘peace on earth?’ At the birth of Christ the angels cried out; “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace on earth to men of good will.” This angelic song consoles us; it declares to us the joy of God’s love the blessed union of heaven and earth, and the deliverance from sin with its anger and hatred. In persecution, and in sorrow, in good times, and rejoicing, the peace of God knows no bounds. How can we not rejoice? It is with our sincere prayers and best wishes that the newborn Christ will bless you, grant you many years of health and happiness; a blessed feast of the Nativity of Our Lord to you, and a blessed and holy New Year.
