Hello and Welcome! Well, what a wonderful Christmas we all had here at

Chorleywood, thank you to everyone for all there

continued support over the festive months.

We’d like to thank everyone for their patience during the

outbreak of flu within the home, thanks to everyone’s

cooperation we were able to open the home again after

just 5 days.

Next, as many of you may know, Diana Nica came to help

support us in October last year, I can now tell you with

great pride that Diana is now is now our permanent

Deputy Manager.

Lastly I would just like to mention that during the end of

these winter months that the snow can be dangerous and

to ask everyone to take caution when driving to and from

the home. Hopefully we’re gotten past the worst of it but

better be safe than sorry.

If anyone has anything they would like to chat to me

about, my door is always open,

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas! We’ve all been awed by the stunning decorations and were inspired for Christmas at our latest shopping trip out to the Van Hage Garden Centre.

We celebrated Chris' 15th year as a resident of Chorleywood. We all had a wonderful evening, accompanied by the soothing tones of Franz Hepburn, who performed an array of operatic songs for us. Chris said he couldn’t have asked for more. Here's to the next 15 years!

We’ve all been having a wonderful time decorating for Christmas! Everyone across the home, staff and residents alike, have gotten into the Christmas spirit and have all worked together to make Chorleywood look spectacular.

Sharon’s Choir

Every Wednesday we’ve been having a Christmas Choir, with our final performance taking place on the 19th of December. The amount of support from relatives, members of the community and residents of the flats has been outstanding. Thank you to all who made the Choir such a success. Sharon has been brilliant, learning all the songs and conducting the Choir. What a festive way to end the year!

Callum Wins Best Chef

We are delighted to announce that Callum Stoneham has won the 'Best Chef' category at the National Care Awards! Callum goes above and beyond in his role, and we can’t thank him enough for everything he does for us here at Chorleywood Beaumont.

Congratulations, Callum – we couldn’t have thought of a more deserving winner.

Christmas Craft Fair

Thank you to everyone who came to our Christmas Craft Fair. We all had a lovely day shopping, listening to Christmas songs and having mulled wine & mince pies!

Christmas Jumper Day

Thank you to all the staff to participated and donated for Christmas Jumper Day. All the money raised goes to ‘Save the Children’ and we all had fun participating! Congratulations to Sharon, Elena & Diana who were the winners of the ‘Best Christmas Jumper’ judged by Chris Anderton

Trip to see the Christmas Lights

We all had a lovely night driving around London to see all the beautiful Christmas lights, a massive thank you to Wayne for taking time to drive us!

Father Christmas comes to Visit

We all had a lovely Christmas morning with Father Christmas coming to personally deliver all of the presents along with some help from Mrs.

New Show Suite Opening

Deputy Lord Left Lieutenant of Edinburgh, Edward Green, unveiled the show suites for our newest care home, Queens Manor, which is set to open in February 2019. Assisted by Divisional Director, Fiona Moncur, and members of the Queens Manor team, Mr. Green cut the ribbon with a giant pair of scissors. The show suite was fitted out by Barchester’s team of expert interior designers, and provides an opportunity to see what the finished 60-bed care home will look like when complete. The show suite features spacious en-suite bedrooms and a lounge, as well as a large assisted bathroom, all designed with the comfort of residents in mind. Queens Manor is part of an extensive expansion programme, with a further 6 homes opening in 2019. The home will also include a café and private dining room, a cinema and activities room, concierge service, en-suite bedrooms with garden access for ground floor rooms, as well as a life enrichment programme of tailored activities, seasonal menus and an in-house hair salon.

Barchester’s CEO, Dr. Pete Calveley, was recently awarded the prestigious 'Outstanding Contribution to Care' award at the 2018 Laing Buisson Awards on 15th November. The esteemed Laing Buisson Awards, nicknamed “The Oscars of Health and Social Care”, are in their 13th year of recognising excellence. Judged completely independently and objectively, the awards focus on the people providing the care, as well as their advisors. Pete was also recognised at the 2018 Health Investor Power Fifty Awards, where he was presented with the ‘Outstanding Leader’ award. The ceremony celebrates the most effective and inspiring leaders across six key aspects of independent healthcare. A huge congratulations to Pete for these two fantastic achievements!
