Program Goals and Brand Strategy

OVERVIEWChoose Healthy Here was established in partnership with the University of Nebraska Lincoln Extension Office and the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. The Choose Healthy Here brand was developed based on the efforts to reduce barriers found across four food system categories:

• Find • Afford • Choose • Use

PROGRAM GOALS• Increase access to healthy foods for our fellow Nebraskans

• Work with retailers/vendors/worksites to make healthy foods affordable

• Prompt and encourage consumers to choose healthy foods

• Educate consumers on how to prepare healthy foods and make them a part of their lifestyle

BRAND STRATEGY The Choose Healthy Here brand is:

• Friendly: Welcoming and encouraging of consumers’ personal choice

• Authentic: Creates a sense of community connectedness

• Bilingual: Available in English and Spanish

• Flexible: Adaptable for multiple environments — retail (grocery and convenience stores), vending, cafeterias, etc.
