    - 19th century outline

    - People in the 19th century thought that the cause of cholera was originally from direct contact with dirty, decaying items. It was also thought to beinhaled through the air, in a miasma or bad air. They also believed that those oflower standings were more likely to get the disease when in contact with these items.

    -The treatment used in the 19th century consisted of at home treatment with doctors using methods of bleeding (use of leeches to make the patient bleedout the disease) and opium. The upper class used methods of electric treatments.They also made sure to improve their sanitary conditions. There were sermons oncholera as well as turmoil due to mass funerals.

    - At the end of the 19th century, Europe and North America basically completely got rid of cholera. This could be due to the better living conditions aswell as the better sanitary conditions.
