LETTER FROM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

One final message on the 2012 Peach Jam Jubilee. You can see from the picture on the cover of

this newsletter that a variety of family-oriented activities were enjoyed at this event.

That is the Chamber’s goal: offer a “quality of life” event that will benefit our community and surrounding areas.

Any success we enjoyed is a result of

the support received from sponsors, our county commission, the various cities and towns in this county and from the more than 100 volunteers who gave of their time and effort. The Peach Jam is a team effort!

Now, the challenge is to make it better next year.

Come join us!

CHAMBER MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

MOUNTAIN VIEW ORCHARDS16045 County Road 29Jemison, AL 35085205-351-1931 (Andy)205-217-5990 (Steve)www.mountainvieworchards.com

There is a rich history of growers here in Chilton County. Mountain View Orchards is one of many farms that have continued this rich history, by producing some of the highest quality fruits since the early 1930s. Peaches and apples

have always been the main fruits grown on the farm—although over the years the farm has produced other fruits such as plums, pears, watermelons, cantaloupes, strawberries, blackberries and blueberries. At present, the orchards are managed and operated by Steve Wilson and Andy Millard. With 50 years of combined experience in growing and marketing these fruits, Steve and Andy have the skills and knowledge for producing the highest quality fruits available.

This Chamber Member Spotlight will be a regular feature in our newsletter. If you would like for your business to be featured here, please provide a picture and text, and we will include it in an upcoming edition.

Directions (from Birmingham): Take I-65 south to Exit 219. Turn right off Exit 219 onto County Road 42. Go approximately 0.1 mile and turn left onto County Road 29. Go approximately 2 miles, and the orchards will be on the right. Mountain View Orchards is located directly across theh road from Petals From the Past nursery.
