Multiple Roles of Chilla

What we do Chilla nurtures and empowers children to live together and enjoy a

safe and comfortable life since 2000. Chilla brings together various NGOs from all over India for mutual

consultation & assistance to provide for sex workers’ children. Chilla presently cares for all the needs of 15 children, including

shelter, education, food and cultural activities. Chilla also supports building houses for sex workers and their

children

A long standing and immediate need

For the last ten years Chilla is running from one rented house to the next almost every year. The uncertainty of displacement hangs over it as a Damocles sword. Adding to this the Government has made a new stipulation that all centers like this should own its property and house. There is a time limit of maximum one year for us to find a place of our own. Only corporate level initiative can fulfill this need, which is too big for us to solve. We expect and hope someone in that sphere address this immediate need.
